  1. The current decade, as always. I still visit the past, but it does not dominate.
  2. Italy.
  3. My girlfriend.

1. I'm not sure. Every decade has its share of good music.

2. YES! I would be very bored without it.

3. No, I haven't.

+=======+=======+=======+

Since I'm in bed sick, a couple of 'sick' questions:

1. Are you often ill?

2. How long do you wait before calling a doctor when you're off the weather?

3. How long does it usually take you to get better?

1. Not anymore. I used to catch colds often a few years back, though.
2. If it's something minor that I know how to fix, I'll usually just take the required over-the-counter remedy and try to get some rest. Otherwise, I bug my mom, because she, conveniently, happens to be a doctor.
3. It's been a long time since I've been sick with any regularity, so I'll just say "it varies".

***

1. What kind of music would totally kill the romantic mood for you?
2. If you could only talk to one single person for an entire week, would you get bored?
3. How many people are you able to share a bathroom with without going completely insane?

1. Death Metal for sure.
2. It depends on whom I get to talk to. If I get Mr J for myself an entire week I'm sure I wouldn't get bored.
3. It's not so much the number of people, rather what people. Living with two teenage children anyone could get insane when it comes to how long they spend in the bathroom.

  1. None
  2. On DVD, I've been following Battlestar Gallactica. Damn them for not releasing season 3 yet. Same for LOST (which I consider sort'a sci-fi).
  3. It's Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? No, it's Best in Show! Wait, it's Blazzing Saddles!! Oh poo... do I have to?

  1. Admit it, you own the entire series of Sienfeld on DVD, don't you?
  2. From time to time, we all pick our noses when we drive--where do you put yours?
  3. Aren't you looking forward to the new Indiana Jones film?

1. No. I do own the entire series of Babylon 5, and (so far) the first four seasons of Frasier. While Seinfeld has given me some laughs, I have no interest in getting it on DVD.
2. I have a roll of paper in my glove compartment. Equally handy for wiping off the oil stick or taking care of nasal fluids.
3. Not yet.

1. What do you miss from your childhood? (Or, if you're still one, when you were younger.)
2. Name one thing that people can get embarrassed about when walking together with you.

1. I've been told that the best way to wake up is to get up right when your alarm goes. I hit the snooze, though, and I take a shower once I do get up to get out of the grogginess.
2. Normally some bread with something.
3. Everyday is the same. The best workdays are those with good conversation.

1. Do you prefer dancing to a slow or a fast beat?
2. What's your favorite meat with bread?

1. I don't like both, but if I must choose I choose the slow beat.

2. In Dutch it's called 'leverworst' (liver sausage). I love liver but you can't eat too much of it.

3. Not really, no. I regularly eat stuff that is over its best-before-date.

  1. Not often, but we all have on occasion I think
  2. Usually for me, it's excessive stress at work, or travel to new places.
  3. Not sleep. Or you could try a shot of Jägermeister
________
  1. Does travel mess up your bowel movements?
  2. Do you have a better remedy than Jägermeister? Because Excedrin PM gets me sleep but totally screws up my next day.
  3. What is your secret to surviving a 9-hour (or longer) flight?

1. Not that I know of.

2. Melatonin pill. It's herbal so it's safe, natural, and doesn't dehydrate you like alcoholic beverages (so no hangover or headaches). Take one 30 minutes before bed. If you're really desperate get a 'script for Ambien or Lunestra, and take it ONLY as needed (allow at least 8 hours sleep time).

3. A damn good book and my iPod (featuring excellent podcasts from NPR).

________

1. What did you do today that makes some kind of difference, either to yourself or the world or both?

2. When was the last time you seriously tried to re-establish contact with an out-of-touch friend?

3. When was the last time you said "I love you" to someone?

Herbal doesn't equal safe Trep. There are plants and animals out there that are poisonous enough to kill you.

Yes, that's a good point. However, what I meant to say is that it's reasonably safe compared to such intense prescription drugs like Ambien. And of course, you must take anything you put into your body responsibly.

I'm not sure about that. Maybe it's different in America, but here in the Netherlands as far as I know, prescription drugs are much more rigourously tested than homopathic drugs before they get on the market.

But let me answer your questions:

Quote:
1. What did you do today that makes some kind of difference, either to yourself or the world or both?

2. When was the last time you seriously tried to re-establish contact with an out-of-touch friend?

3. When was the last time you said "I love you" to someone?
1. Nothing, I just woke up

2. A few months ago when I sent her a postcard. It worked, too, I got an SMS from her a few days ago.

3. Yesterday, to my Swiss fan. She is very special to me.

+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+-=-+

1. Do you prefer homeopathic drugs over prescription drugs?

2. Why?

3. What is your opinion on the testing of drugs on animals?

That's what I meant. There have been some recent scandals involving herbal 'supplements' and the FDA, but so far nothing related to melatonin. Like I stated, it's relatively effective if you take it responsibly.

Quote:

3. What is your opinion on the testing of drugs on animals?
1. That depends on whatever condition for which I'm taking the drugs. There are certain medical situations where homeopathic therapy may be useless. Sometimes homeopathic approaches are good, but other times you really do need an extremely powerful 'script to combat something.

2. See the above answer.

3. It's ultimately a necessary evil.

_______

1. If you don't already have a child, how do you think becoming a parent would shift how you live in, and view, the world if at all?

2. Name one aspect in your life that has been noticeably affected by where you have chosen to live.

3. Your internet connection has stopped for several days. What do you do during that time other than running to some other internet source?
