Intrepid: questions, questions!

(My mom was so into canned goods when we were kids. I'm so glad to be hooked onto fresh and raw veggies now.)

TSA: ummm, am I supposed to set a time zone in my profile somewhere?
__________
  1. What is your favorite fresh fruit?
  2. Who's the most annoying celeb for you? I mean, the one you want to go away the most.
  3. What have you seen someone do that you wished you had not seen?

I think the time you post is set by the server, not the computer you post from. I think it was a software glitch in the server.

While I'm here I might as well answer your other questions

1. At the moment, apple. But recently I bought a machine that can get the juice out of oranges (what's that called in English?) and I use that a lot!

2. I think it's Jim Carrey. I hate him in his 'funny' movies, which are not funny at all. He's a very good actor in serious roles though, and I loved him in The Truman Show.

3. I guess you mean in real life instead of on TV or the Interweb? When I was 10 years old I saw a boy from my class beat someone up for no reason. That wasn't funny at all.

+=======+=======+=======+

1. How many people do you know that are ill at the moment?

2. Do you grow (some of) your own food?

3. Are you looking forward to spring?

By the time I answered all three sets of questions I was too exhausted to think up my own.

1. Three or four ( they only have colds)
2. Nope, I can’t grow much of anything. I have a black thumb. Most people have green thumbs and they are great with plants, but me no way.
3. Yes

1. Well..that would be right now. It is very hot and dry- it rarely if ever rains during summer here. The winter is the rainy season. It is sunny here everyday and in the afternoons, a very violent, dry wind kicks up and blows the neighbor's clothes into our yard. (from the clothes line I mean- not from his body)

2. I'd like to see Sweden...The coolness of the climate seems very appealing to me right now. I am ready for snow again. Also, the people seem to be awfully nice there (or perhaps Jelena and Trumgottist are just excellent ambassadors for their country )

3. Hm...I guess I explained some of my reasons above. Climate, different language to be learned...rural Swedish architecture...and I haven't seen a moose for a couple of years now...

1. Are you allergic to anything?
2. Should I order the red curry with beef or the green curry with chicken?
3. What are your feelings on alternative health versus traditional western medicine?

1. Too many things. Pollen, shellfish, tree nuts, dairy, chocolate. Thankfully the latter two don't have a bad of a reaction.
2. Usually I prefer chicken over beef, but with curry it's hard to say.
3. I'll take Western medicine. I'd need more research on alternatives before trying them (assuming this isn't for something as simple as a headache).

1. When looking up a word, do you reach for a dictionary or something on the computer?

  1. An online dictionary. Heh...
  2. Yes, plenty.
  3. No. I should, but I don't (at work).

  1. I loved most of the music in Jacky Brown.
  2. Traffic
  3. I don't need a hero. I think at the moment I am doing very well for myself. I don't need anyone to look up to.

  1. Hmmmm, wow. Let's see. I first started typing in typing class in '72-73. I've been in the computer industry since 1987 (not counting school before that). I get and send hundreds of emails every day. I write code. I type in forums. I text and IM.

So I guess the answer is "a lot". I don't know how to calculate that. Can I just say billions and billions?

  2. Yes, if you'll consider a modified version of "western lifestyle". I take that to mean to have certain rights and abilities in our culture, our freedom of travel, and our vain requirements for personal travel vehicles. Yes, that's probably possible with alternative power sources.

Just as soon as people stop feeling the need to make things like Hummers and Bugattis.

  3. Yes, yes I did. Alcohol and a late movie was probably responsible.

1. Not really...it's not really a type of music I enjoy very much...I'm more of a classical/jazz/swing/folk sort of person.
2. Never. I've been to a lot of malls in my time but never that one.
3. No...and I hope I never have to (looks severely at Jacog)

1. Do you replace the spent toilet roll with a fresh one in its proper place on the dispenser, or are you more likely to just perch the new roll somewhere rather than putting it on its spool?
2. Have you ever baked someone a birthday cake? Tell us about it.
3. If you're sleeping in the same room as someone else and there's a mosquito buzzing about, are YOU the one always gets bitten?

1. I always put the new roll in the dispenser.
2. No, but I have made cookies for my first girlfriend. I wasn't feeling very well, but I still did it, and she was very impressed. That was fun
3. I would love to know, but unfortunately it didn't last long enough to test that.

1. Yes, actually.
2. Absolutely. Staying ignorant of current events will only hurt a person in the long run.
3. Hmm... Toss up. Fine Scale Modeler, Motor Trend, WWII, and Flight Journal are all pretty good.

1. Does the list of magazines I've listed say anything about me?
2. Clean fanatics: Good or evil?
3. Where was the most exotic locale you've visited?

1. Yes, yhou're an old veteran who flew in WWII. You like driving to the shop where they sell plastic models of the planes you flew, on your shiny Harley.

2. Fanatics are always bad, however clean they are.

3. Japan. Kyoto.

+=====+=====+=====+

1. Do you like partying like there's no tomorrow?

2. How many plants do you have in your house?

3. What would you do in your spare time if you were transported back to the 1960's, and you had no computer games to waste time with?

1. I'm not much of a partier, but I haven't given it much of a try either. I might like it with the right group of people, but not with large groups.

2. There's enough greenery outside, so I don't bother with it inside.

3. I'd go skiing and "invent" the shaped ski.

________

1. Does it bother you that the general public is more uptight about nudity and sex than they are with violence in entertainment?

2. Do you whistle?

3. Will you strike up conversations with strangers in public?

1. A more accurate statement would be to say that it amuses me.
2. Yep.
3. I will if there seems to be something worth talking about at the time. Sometimes, I'll happen upon two or more strangers having a conversation about something I'm personally interested in, and I'll join in. I also occasionally find myself chatting with street performers, particularly when they're playing a musical instrument that I myself also know how to play. Good times. That being said, I'm hopelessly antisocial at most parties.

***

1. If I offered to post an mp3 file of myself whistling any tune you wanted, which would you request?
2. Is it more important to be interesting or interested?
3. What's your tragic flaw?

1. The overture to Bizet's Carmen, please.

2. Interested, genuinely so. One of the beneficial by-products of being such is that you become interesting to others.

3. I have many flaws. Some of them may hold me back but none of them are tragic, thankyouverymuch.

1. I'm fascinated by ficiton crime stories both in games, TV shows and novels but when it comes to true crime stories I tend to feel upset and sad by the evil.
2. *smiles* that was some years ago. A friend and I went to club and we ran into a bunch of guys who had some reunion (after uni IIRC). I talked and danced a lot to one of the guys (who was a true gentleman btw). It was flattering but at midnight I called Mr J to come and pick me up.
3. My town is a small town, more than 800 years old. We don't have much of a night life or a lot of shopping, instead it's pretty calm and sleepy. We're close to the nature, both the ocean and the wildlife. I can't label it as a masculine or feminie town.

Great questions! I'll pass them on to the next person.

  1. Yes they do, but only when I run into them--I don't seek them out.
  2. A couple of weeks ago, in the company cafeteria, a woman came up to me and asked me if I that was the salmon greek salad I was having. As she was staring into my eyes and not at the food at all, I suspect that she saw me from across the room and wanted to speak with me, look into my eyes.
  3. Seattle is fem, dispite the fact that a lot of rock shows are sausage fests. We have a huge gay/lesbian community, and it's basically liberal blue all over. You're a good male catch if you have a cat (and I do).
