1. For the most part.
2. I'm becoming unable to truly get knocked out for 10 hours like I used to. 9 hours is ideal, 8 is OK, and 7 is bearable.
3. I've become rather resigned to my ways, so attempts at change are few and growing further in between.
___

1. What's the title of your life's team song?
2. If you existed as pure energy, what would be your preferred flotation spot, and what color(s) would you exude?
3. Describe the most epic action scene ever in which you are the main protagonist.

1. Why Am I So Lonely? (Get Away From Me!)
2. Who says I'd even want to stay in one spot or emit colours? I'd prefer to wander around and remain undetectable, much as I do in real life most of the time.
3. A random drunk dude tries to kiss me while I'm playing with my band out on the street, and I kick him in the shins. True story.

---

1. Is your productivity ever influenced by the weather?
2. How much water do you drink in a day?
3. Are you any good at what you do?

1. On some cold rainy days I just want to read and stay cozy in my fleece robe and warm slippers. I seem to have more energy to get things done when the sun is shining.
2. 3 or 4 large glasses
3. I am very good at being retired.

~~~~~~
1. What nagging song has been going through your head lately?
2. What book(s) are you reading now?
3. What was the most interesting piece of mail you received in the past week or so?
1. Bad Romance.
2. Kunzelman & Kunzelman by the Swedish author Carl-Johan Vallgren.
He's an amazing writer and I have a secret crush on him.
3. I got an invitation to a conference (my new job) set at a castle outside of Stockholm. There will be a dinner party in the evening and we'll stay overnight at the castle.
-----------
1. What book has made the biggest impact on you?
2. Who's your current favourite author?
3. Have you ever read anything by a Swedish author? (If you're Swedish you can answer any of Lady Kestrel's questions instead of this one).
  1. Without a doubt, Gödel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter. This, despite the fact that I've only read around half of it. I first started reading it when I was a little kid, and the style of it so captivated me that I can still see its influence very strongly in artistic creations I'm making now. It's just a brilliant book.
  2. If by "author" you allow for screenwriters, I'll go with Stephen Moffat of Doctor Who. If you don't allow for TV but do allow for comics, I'll say Kieron Gillen. But both of these are very of-the-moment favorites; all it'd take to get me to stop liking them is one really bad project. If not TV or comics, then I've got no current favorite because I haven't read any novels in a while. Maybe Bill Willingham- his Peter and Max was great, and that's the last novel I read. (It's a spinoff of a comic.)
  3. Not that I know of.
  1. What do you think of Israel?
  2. What do you think of America?
  3. What do you think of Asperger's Syndrome?
1. It has its good parts and its bad parts. Also, I happen to have some extended family living there.
2. Same answer as #1, come to think of it.
3. I display (or have displayed) some of the symptoms/traits, but not in a clinically significant enough sense to be diagnosed with it.
2. What do you think of Canada?
3. What do you think of ADHD?
1. When I Fall, by Barenaked Ladies.
2. Above Squinky's bed, and I would change colours like a mood ring.
3. I'm trying to swim across a small inlet and start drowning, barely managing to turn around and swim back to shore.
A bit, yeah. It's hard to say, because it's affected so much by my moods, but weather plays a hand.
2. Hardly any, in it's uncontaminated forms. This machine runs on caffeine.
3. I have no idea. No, I take that back. I almost never believe I'm good at what I do, but I'm willing to concede that I could be wrong. But not about my current job. I know I'm bad at that.
1. The Devil You Know, by Split Enz.
2. I haven't finished Number of the Beast by R. A. Heinlein.
3. None, but about two weeks ago, I received a small cheque for some design work I did, and it came with a note of thanks on some very pretty note paper.
1. For years, it was The Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy by R. A. Wilson, but these days, I suspect it's Insomnia by Stephen King.
2. I have a number of faves, but at least half of them are comic book writers.
3. No.
I suppose that's the next best thing to having a pinup poster of you on my ceiling. Or, well, the real thing. *dreamy sigh*
1. It's a place I'd eventually like to visit.
2. It's either super touristy or depressingly poor, depending where you go.
3. Seeing you struggling with it, I figure it's a real pain in the ass, but I also often wonder if it's at least in part responsible for the aspects of your personality I like.
When you're feeling upset about something, do you feel better when your friends...
1. It depends on the friend and the seriousness of the situation. In the middle of a personal crisis, I'd rather have a good listener.
2. Only if I ask
3. Hugs and a shoulder to cry on are most helpful.
1. If you could transform at will into any animal, which one would you choose to be?
3. If you could be granted one small pleasure right this minute, what would it be?
1. I'd like to be one of my rabbits.
2. Folding the laundry.
3. I don't need anything, thank you.
1. Not constant pain but a couple of people who are in pain of some kind most days, it must be very hard for them and it's certainly no fun watching them suffer.
2. My father in law is in a wheelchair but can walk very short distances. Children are the best, when they see him climb out of the wheelchair and hobble a couple of feet to a chair, the looks on their faces are like they think he is suddenly cured or maybe just pretending!
3. My mother in law was rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack this weekend. Luckily we were fairly nearby and rushed to the hospital. After a nervous wait whilst the paramedics were with her (felt like a lifetime) we got in to see her and she is OK. However, during the wait, Mrs. Degree really thought her mother might die and was shaking and dazed even given her wonderful British self control! I was in turmoil, trying to comfort Mrs Degree whilst feeling completely useless as there was nothing I could do except pray. Emotional insanity over about 3 hours but a happy ending!
1. Today. Pain Boy was visiting me.
2. No. I like my work, and I have enough free time.
3. The closest to someone I know who is about to be born is a couple of friends of mine who are trying IVF to get a second child.
1. Tie between TTG in 2006 and HH in 2008.
2. My high school job filing at a doctor's office. Either that or, arguably, the end of my last job.
3. Brainstorming sessions with some really creative and funny people.
Probably, but it's hard to say if I wouldn't have at least some of my more interesting traits without the illness. *sigh*
I usually get (1), I tend to think I need (2), but really, I'd much rather have (3).
1. A Platypus, because really, then i wouldn't have to explain myself. Seriously, who questions a platypus?
2. My job.
3. *chuckles* Sorry, there are minors present.
1) I'm not close to him, but there's a musician I know here in town who has Morkio Syndrome, and is in a pretty good deal of constant pain because of it, I gather.
2. See 1. also, my brother is mentally handicapped.
3. I'm not aware of anyone close to me dying at the moment. My Uncle Pat came pretty close recently. Come to think of it, he's probably in a good deal of discomfort right now, given the amount of surgery he's had.
1. Yesterday I slept in with a headache until early afternoon, and then freaked out and refused to call in sick. miraculously, I'm still employed.
2. I've rarely ever blown off work without a pretty legitimate reason, but there have been days when that reason was largely psychological. Now, I used to ditch school a fair bit in my day, but it's been a long time since I was in school.
3. I'm not aware if anyone close to me is pregnant.
1. Freelance Graphic Design, closely followed by full time writing. When I get published, the writing thing will slip into the number one slot with a bullet.
2. Working in a print shop, followed closely by working in a tool repair shop. I really must give up on this idea that i can work for people in the customer service industry.
3. I've written two novels and drawn one ashcan comicbook, and helped write and/or design for a number of video games with/for Deirdra.
1. Jeff Alexander at my first after school job at Little Caesar's Pizzeria. Not monumental, but he helped me to develop my work ethic for the first twenty years.
2. Rick Kowalchuk, without a doubt the coolest art teacher I ever had. I miss that guy, and wish I'd gotten together with him for a beer.
3. A freelance professional animator told me almost twenty five years ago that the secret is to never say you can't do a job; take the job first, and then go figure out how it's done. This line of reasoning gets me in a lot of trouble these days, but it's been a constant in my life.
  1. Cat.
  2. Distinctive.
  3. Rock music. There are other kinds of music I hate more than rock, but I figure if it weren't for rock most of those genres wouldn't have existed either, so it has to be rock music.
1. To be honest I seriously doubt there will be any form of humanity left! For the purposes of the question though I think humans will evolve into two separate groups (sort of H.G. Wells time machine-esq). One group will descend from the office worker/"hardcore" gamer/lazy(!) who will have taken increasingly less exercise and therefore evolved away their legs and become big round balls (flat at the base though) of flesh who do everything electronically.
The second group will be descended from the more active and those who do physical jobs who will be adonis like in physique and looks with anything deviating from the norm aborted during pregnancy or senselessly slaughtered thereafter.
Which will be the ruling class? The out of control robots of course!
2. In terms of my answer to 1 i'm all for the robots!
3. They would kill us immediately!
