Default Useless Trivia

Okay, my turn to start a new fun thread. Just as the topic suggest, I'd like you guys to contribute useless (but fun) trivias.

Here I go:

More persons died at sea when the Empress of Ireland sank in the St. Lawrence Seaway, than when the Titanic sank off Newfoundland.

Cistrus flavors fend off rodents.

The fending off of rodents can be done with the flavor of citrus.

Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks, otherwise it will digest itself.

Dentists have recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least 6 feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush.

^^Mythbusters checked that, and found out that it didn't have any effect how far away from the toilet the toothbrush was. Even their test brushes that was placed outside the toilet (in another room) got some bacterias on them..

*side note*

You can soak your toothbrushes in mouthwash (that has alcohol in it) to sterilize them.

Also, that stomach info was interesting - I hadn't known about the turnover rate.
