The Threadâ„¢ will die.

The No Sex Thread
I doubt this will last more than about five seconds, but I figure, what with every single thread in Chit Chat turning into a discussion related to that-concept-mentioned-in-this-thread's-title, that we should have a thread - a single thread - where other discussions can take place safe from it all.
That's how sick I am of every other thread at the moment. So no mentioning that. And, on that note, how is everyone? I've just got back from some time spent in the bar with a couple of college friends (though strictly non-alcoholic on my part). I'm now installing Neverwinter Nights 2, which turned up at about 5pm this evening. Life really isn't too bad, aside from the workload. And you? |

Doing smashingly well. I admit, I was starting to feel like an outsider after noticing I was in the 1% of forumers who acted.....conservatively.
Currently playing Splinter Cell DA, which I've already given my opinion on. And I'm going to be doing Sam&Max soon. As for reading, someone I know recently read Jane Eyre, sparking my interest. (Yes, I'll take ribbing for reading something like it... ) Dreadfully dull, though. I'm also waiting for the new Splinter Cell book to come out.

I agree with you, lacey. It gets frustrating seeing every thread turn into cyber-sexual flirtation, generally by the same people, as though they aren't capable of actual conversation. Not to say that it's terrible, but it happens way more than I think it should.

Actually, I'm currently struggling to get into my work. I've got some anxiety issues related to how long I've been away from the drawing table that is hampering my ability to get work done at the moment.
As well, I'm trying to get the company better established so I can afford to bring other people in to help me with certain pet projects I can't afford to focus on right now. Finally, I'd really like to have enough money coming in so I could travel and meet a few people I want to work with in the not-too-distant future. |

I envy you. Mine hasn't turned up yet. I hope it doesn't get lost in the mail. I think it will be safe as soon as it has left the British Mail service, though. -

And for that matter, hanging out in bars whilst not drinking is practically my life story. And Lee, I'd love to meet and work with you someday. Strictly platonically, of course.

Now I wasn't naming any names...
Anyway, big thing happening with me is this week I turned in my first real film paper, which is kind of exciting. I'm not sure how well it turned out, should get my grade tomorrow. But anyways, I wrote a fairly cool paper on masculinity, femininity and androgyny in Double Indemnity (which people who read Recent Movies Seen and have a good memory might remember). I think the problem with it might have been that it was going all over the place.

i came here to share my embarassing tales of a lonely celebate man and instead i am bombarded with non-alcoholic ventures to bars, the 'british mail service', raincoats, work and 'sercureROM' whatever the hell that shit is...
...screw you all. |

Why do people always think that loneliness and celibacy have to go hand in hand?

it's not a fact, of course. obviously celebate people are missing out, unless they have another gene pool or something that makes them impervious to orgasms?!

Apparently no one knows the etymology of the word "vanilla."

There are much better things in this world than orgasms. Trust me.

I'm incredibly tired and overwhelmed with all of the work I have to do. I just feel so physically and mentally tired after my week to feel like doing much of anything fun right now. I'm just working at getting things done and worry a bit (though I try not to) about how I'm going to get all of the work done that I need to do by next summer so I can finally graduate, get a job and I don't have to scrounge around for another year of funding.
Things will work out but it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes. And I sincerely wish I could follow the two quotes I have in my signature... |
