5abanja is a butcher. He weighs 146kg in one foot. What does he weigh in two feet?

I have corrected the question,, for those of you who haven't seen it yet.

I don't see any difference between the old version of the question and the new one. Also, 5abanja, you meant "on" one foot/two feet. Not "in."


Regardless, the answer is "meat."

Is the trick in the question the difference between "weigh" and "weight"? Umm... I don't know if that's right. Is "weigh" when you weigh something else and "weight" as in "how much do you weight?". The latter is a transitive verb, but I don't know what that means exactly.

"Weight" is a noun, not any kind of verb. It is the measure of how heavy something is, so one could say "The weight of that box is four kilograms" or, in a more colloquial usage, "I give a lot of weight to his opinion."
"Weigh" is a verb, and one could say "He weighs two hundred pounds" or "He weighed a hunk of meat, and determined that it weighed four pounds."
I don't really know how this applies to the question, since I don't really feel like reading it at the moment. ;)

I think it's 292kg, as 1 foot weighs 146 so two feet weigh twice that much. I have no idea what meat product he would measure in feet while using metric weights, unless we're talking about a cows feet or something and not a length.

It's a play on words, Dom. He "weighs" 146 KG standing on one foot. He "weighs" meat while standing on two feet. Because he's a butcher. The riddle is taking advantage of the fact that the word "weigh" can be used two different ways (hehehe) and by mentioning kilograms first your mind tends to latch onto that usage of the word and glide right over the other.

I knew it was a trick question! But it was worded weirdly with all the feet and foot... :P

A similar question I've heard before goes along these lines: Tom is a butcher. What does he weight?. People reply with "How the hec should I know what Tom weighs..." and so on, when in reality, the answer is just meat. :D
