Table manners (Retry 1)
I want to know if I'm the only one in the world who holds the fork in his right hand and the knife in his left when dining.

Hey, I thought just the same thing.
The wondering could be created by the fact that entire western civilisation has been trying to coerce me to do otherwise. They would have succeeded in my switching cutlery if I wasn't such a stubborn fool And I guess you are one too!

I feel a strong sense of belonging and a magical bond between us...
...nah, it's gone already. When I was five, my brother said to me "The only way you'll ever survive is by claiming you are left handed". Lol to brothers.

Pity.
[edit]: by the way, fork-right-handers are dominating the poll completely! We're normal!!

I too am a right hand fork guy.
I hate when people tell me sometimes that "normal" people use fork in their left hand...

I had to choose "other," as I generally just use my hands for eating. I use my knife in whichever hand is most likely to disadvantage and confuse my opponent and I don't put my fork in either hand, but rather in the road.

I'm left-handed and am most dexterous using that hand. So I slice with the knife in my left hand, fork steadying the food in my right hand, and eat that way. However, I also switch utensils, eating with the fork in my left hand. Whichever I feel like. I don't consider it a matter of draconian table etiquette anymore, so long as you maintain a high level of gracefulness.
Okay, here's a little test of how well you know your table manners: What is the proper way to remove a bone or seed from your mouth (if, say, you are eating fruit or chicken at the table)?

Maybe just fake a cough, and quietly remove the bone.

The way Seinfeld and Costanza acted when they attempted to prevent the deaf person on the other side of the table reading their lips: using all manner of cups, beakers, dry-eyes-routines or coughs to cover up your mouth whilst swiftly flicking away the bone between your teeth

All my family and friends hold their knife in the right, and my mother chides me for holding my knife in my left everytime she sees me eat. I have no idea why I decided to start eating that way, but I've always done it...

Don't know I'm a very irregular viewer, even though I like it. I just don't have the time, and I certainly don't keep track of which episodes I've seen ^_^ I can however tell you it involved a Deaf Woman.

So I take that you guys are ignorant of table manners and are trying to hide it by talking about some t.v. sitcom instead. Nobody's answered my question [correctly]. Hmm, I supposed the guest list for my next dinner party is going to be noticeably shorter.
Come on, guys! See if you can get it right: What is the proper way to remove a bone or seed from your mouth (if, say, you are eating fruit or chicken at the table)?
