After years and years of searching I finally went out and bought myself some real great new shoes. I'm pretty darn happy that I got these Dockers shoes.

I've never owned anything like these. I instantly fell in love with these shoes. All the stuff I've owned before were sneakers or sandals or kind of black "boots".

This has been a splurge month for me:
  • A Boda bag
  • Obsidian, for a too-high price on eBay
  • Deadwood Season 3
  • A 10" All-clad fry pan (I already have the 12", so this is splurge.)
  • I bought an antique dining room set for my gf in celebration of her masters degree commencement and 50th bday
  • I spent well over a thousand dollars on a party for said commencement. It was an INSANE party, so money well spent.
All (and more) in one month. No, I'm not rich--I now owe a lot.

I'm going to a wedding, and I needed some clothes for it. I ended up with a new pair of khaki pants, a white t-shirt, and both a white and a blue button-up shirt. I also bought a few more samples of cologne: Riverside Drive, Michael Kors, and Navegar.

I recently bought a 3-CD Creedence Clearwater Revival compilation, and have been spending far too much time listening to it.

I also bought more RAM in the hopes it would improve playing back DVDs, but no dice. I think the drive itself is shot. Sigh.

Finally, I bought the Spiderman 3 novel. Peter David is awesome.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I recently got Okami and Phoenix Wright Justice for All.

Also bought two Goldfrapp albums that I decided I liked after having downloaded them - take that, anti-piracy fanatics.

... and a cast iron teapot.

Spent the weekend at a board/card/role-playing festival called "Arcon". Lots of fun, bought a few things on the auction they held.

14 Pokèmon DVD's (about 3-4 episodes on each DVD) for about 11 dollars. Bought unseen, and ended up finding out that five of them were Japanese, and the rest region 1 (We have Region 2). Can still play them though.

Jubei Chan: The Ninja Girl - Sounded like a midly interesting movie, so offered about 3 dollars for it (the lowest bid possible), and got it for that. Found out that it was a complete TV-series; 3 DVD's.

Four "one adventure game books":
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain - Gamebook 1
The Forest of Doom - Gamebook 3
Deathtrap Dungeon - Gamebook 6
all by Ian Livingstone
Dungeon of Dread - Gamebook 1 by Rose Estes

Also bought some cheap DVD's at a used music store we found today:
A Bug's Life 2 Disc Collector's Edition (have been wanting this for years)
Happy Feet
The Closer - Season 1

Aaand bought some cheap Manga I don't really know much about:
Full Metal Alchemist - Vol.1
Battle Angel - Alita - Vol.1
Fruits Basket - Vol.1

I've ordered myself a Logitech VX Revolution mouse.

And I've also bought the first two seasons of Millennium within the last fortnight.

They are all worth having, a great series. And this is from someone owns all seasons, but owns no X-Files seasons.

I recently got a new domain on the Intertubes: moetjelezen.com! It means something like 'a must read.com' I now have a domain for every book I wrote and the one I'm working on now, and of course I have http://willemtjerkstra.moetjelezen.com, which houses my website. Sophie and Ellen.moetjelezen.com are redirected there. Because willemtjerkstra is hard to remember for many Dutch people I hope this will make advertising a bit more effective.

Do they not call them "Fighting Fantasy" any more? I have a copy of the first one dating from the days when it was the only one.... um..... somewhere around here.

Bought some new Glasses and got prescription sunglasses as well.

Even at 50% because I get my contact lenses from them it was a hefty wadge of moolah.

Just as well I only need to buy them infrequently.

Are you giving up on the contact lenses or did you get some glasses in case you didn't feel like the other? (and yeah, glasses get expensive, especially when you get the lenses coated with stuff). What kind of frames did you get?

Well I can't wer contacts 24 hours a day. I need glasses for the rest of the time or when I can't be bothered to put in the lenses.

I think they were these frames

Oooh, I like those!

Police <---- schnazzy.

I had contacts once when I was much younger and I am far too lazy to keep them up. It's just easier to throw on a pair of glasses.

Elliott Smith - Elliott Smith
So depressing... but good!

Interpol - Our Love To Admire
Better than Antics (so far)

The Mitchell And Webb Situation
Small budget, but funnier than most of the contemporary sketch shows

Boards Of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children
Any band who can use human voice samples as a sequencer is cool by my books.

Yesterday I bought Star Trek Voyager season 1 from a Swedish auction site. The price was : 300 kr / £22 / $45 / €32 That was somewhat cheaper than I had expected.

Oh geeze, I've been so avoiding Voyager. I know I want to, but it's yet another series to work through. I have TNG and have went through it twice.

I probably will, eventually.

Somehow, I've avoided ALL of the ST films.

Hammerite, I find it hard to avoid Elliott Smith too, as depressing as it is. I think I've got it all, except the most recent.
