I got that for a friend. Do you think having 4 versions of the same film in one box (Original US release, Original International release, Original Director's Cut and The Final Cut) is a bit excessive?

I only got that version because I wanted to see the Original Theatrical Cut.
I question what the point of having the original Director's Cut is, but I suppose it doesn't really matter, since they're encoding it with branching anyway (so the effect on the quality of the other versions isn't particularly great). |

It's decided then. If I ever visit you, I'll wear that hat so you can spot me at the airport. -

Why did I know you'd say something along those lines, I wonder? -

Seriously, the thing is so weird, it doesn't even qualify as a hat to be used when skiing. I've long since found that most hats that no one would even dream of wearing even if they're ears were already turning blue, will be worn readily and without a second thought when you tie a pair of planks to the feet of the same person and put them at the top of a snowy hill. For even weirder hats, take away one of the aforementioned planks and tie both feet of the person to the remaining one. But I doubt even that would convince anyone to wear this hat out in public - I think I might have to invent a new winter sport.
Too bad I'm no longer in school. This would have been perfect for "Crazy Hat Friday". One teacher once wore a hat that was the shape of a pig for that. -

Radiohead - In Rainbows (they've never made a bad album)
and, having read 'Small Gods', I bought 'Reaper Man', both by Terry Pratchett.

I beg to differ. They have gone downhill since "OK Computer".
Although I think Pablo Honey and The Bends are their best albums anyway.

Today we bought new down comforters/eiderdowns (not sure about the correct expression) and fluffy pillows, although not with down.
I bid you all goodnight.

5 versions!?!!? Good one. I'd recommend reading his earlier stuff for background to the later books (though you'll notice how much he has improved over the years if you do)

I have the impression that Pratchett had a dip somewhere in the mid- to late 90s and is now at a new high.

I read many of them when I was more wee.
The City Watch omnibus ('Guards! Guards!', 'Men At Arms', and 'Feet Of Clay') are the one's I remember most, along with 'Maskerade'.

The newest book, "Making Money" is excellent so far. I really like this new character, Moist von Lipwig (first seen in "Going Postal"). -

I haven't read that yet because it's not out in paperback here yet. But I surely will read it!

Oh by the way, I splurged on new batteries for both my car and my laptop recently. Those buggers are expensive! Not really a splurge though since both were necessary.

My thought exactly. I mean, what's not to love about a spherical shark? ^_^ -
