So, I started a new job for the summer, at another video game company, but one that isn't nearly as cool as the one I worked for last year. Come to think of it, it kind of feels like dating someone who you sort of like a little bit, after recently breaking up with your soul mate. Somehow, I think I'd be a lot more excited if I didn't already have an even more exciting job beforehand. Ah well.

At least the people seem kind of cool. A few of them were actually quite impressed that I worked on the Sam & Max games - one guy even exclaimed that he currently has Sam & Max as his desktop wallpaper. That brought a flutter to my heart.

In other news, I also started a class in women's studies this week. Feminism is a fun subject to learn, if not just to annoy people with. Plus, the prof (who happens to be male) seems really passionate about the subject, and that always tends to make classes a lot more interesting. Oh, and I now own a car for the first time since the one my brother and I were sharing got totalled. This should definitely bode well for the future.

Erm, you didn't so much break up with your soul mate as you and he had a contractual agreement to be together for a certain amount of time.

<insert wink here>

Will Squinky be burning her brassiere?

(If so, tell me beforehand, I want to be there when the hunky firemen arrive.)

I'm very upset, there was a bone in my can of tuna fish.

Now, there are certain things I'll tolerate in canned tuna; mercury, dolphin, but a bone! It's a disgrace, whatever happened to quality control? Somebody shall be hearing about this!

I totally agree. Matt cut into some ground beef that we bought the other day and when he cut the hamburger meat opened it had what looked like green styrofoam in it. We just threw it away.

Still I'm glad to hear that you have a calm and easy life allowing yourself to be upset over a bone.

Says the one who complained about a piece of plastic in the youghurt and got a recipe book from the dairy company.

A recipe book, eh? Very nice, usually they just send coupons.

I had a worm in my bread that I bought a few months ago.

They gave some coupons, which was nice.

Coupons, bah, you need to be a drama queen in order to get a book of recipes!

I think I've got you beat. I emailed Perdue about this oven stuffer roaster I'd bought and cooked. Part of the breast meat had a greenish hue. It didn't smell bad, so I just cut out that piece and used the rest. I emailed them to ask them what it was, I told them it wasn't a complaint, just a question. They said that they weren't sure, but that they do see this occasionally, and that it was okay - some chickens show this. And that there was no way they could check for this ahead of time. Well, that much was obvious, since it was really in the middle of the thickest part of the breast meat. They sent me, for my question, not even a complaint - a $12 coupon, and a few weeks later, a $5 and a $2 coupon. None of these had any outdates on them either.

One more reason to move to Finland. I mean, muchos socceros live on telly, and, if you choose to not eat it, but dedicate a couple of months to breeding vermin in your bread instead, the company that sold it to you all these moons ago awards your effort with that little extra that makes life all the happier!

I miss Mrs.R. and she hasn't even left yet.
My dear wife is going to Texas and looking for us a place to live in the morning. She is taking the girls with her and doing a lot of visiting of her family then heading down to Houston to see my oldest daughter and my grandkids from my first marriage. I have to stay here and work so it's going to be real quiet around here.

I find myself laughing at myself because I know what will happen. For the first week I'll be running around happy and enjoying the empty house then whammo, I feel all the sudden dreadfully alone.

You're sweet, but silly.

That's when you know you've grown together which is a good thing in my book. Sure you can manage by yourself, but life is so much more fun with the children and the significant other around.

But hey, even if your real children and spouse aren't around, at least your forum children and spouse will be here for you!

Yes, to call me silly and give me huggles. How sweet can you get!

God, I hate that song. Sure, Paul, we'll be here for you.
We don't sing Barbera Striesand in this house young man! We sing Norah Jones, Wiilie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top and of course Bowling for Soup. (Goodness, you can't squeeze the Texan outta me if you tried) But I have seen to many men dressed like Barbara to keep a straight face while listening.
