Ugh, something must be going around, cause I'm sick as a dog, too. Louie was the one to give me the cold, of course. Couldn't keep his mouth off me. Ugh. I haven't eaten at all for quite some time, and I feel like the constant stream of phlem down my nose and throat will strip them both raw.

Welcome back, Dasilva! *hugs*
__ To Bolag, Having spent a summer playing games, reconnecting with old friends, making some music and lounging about -- the summer is almost over. Next week, I return to university -- I'm looking forward to going into my second year with the possibility of learning more and making new friends (and without some of the worries I had in my first year). I might not have Internet for the first month or so if it's anything like last year, so I might not be posting on le forums to often. -- signed Ha! Am I right!

Sad day for Sweden.
Yesterday we had our general election and for the first time a xenophobic party got seats in the parliament. I'm too depressed even to rant about it.

A xenophobic party is a party that aims to get a certain people or people with a certain belief out of the country. Something like our PVV, led by Geert Wilders. I ranted about him a lot already. I don't know what happened in Sweden exactly but maybe we have to wait for Jelena to calm down a bit so she can tell us.
Edit: see here for some more info. Sorry about the weird link :| Last edited by tsa; 09-20-2010 at 12:08 PM. |

I think what happened in Sweden is the same that has been happening in many other parts of Europe these last years. People blaming immigration (foremost from countries outside Europe) for everything that's gone wrong. But there are also people who are dissatisfied with their situation and not feeling the established politicians/parties listen to them and then vote for a populistic party as a manifestation of distrust. (or how to put it)
This party: SD, got 20 seats out of 349 in the parliament and a 'tipping point position' I got that expression from tsa's link. I'm not sure if it describes what I want to say, but it sounds like it. The two political blocs are sitting on each side of a seesaw, tilting a bit towards the right wing and the SD has the power to walk in any direction, helping any side they please, as long as they get what they want. OK, I won't get any more political than that.
