But you HAVE to boast Luna! Most scientists I know are modest, but to be heard you really have to try to stand out. Where is the job? I guess not in the Netherlands if you have to translate your CV to English.

I agree it's difficult to "sell yourself" and boast. As you know I recently went to job interviews and what tsa says really is true. In order to get the interview you have to stand out one way or another. Try to find the best "true-to-Luna-boasting" you can, since at the interview you still have to be the person you presented in the letter.
I worked with a catchy heading in one of my applications and at the interview they referred to it, so it must have done something to attract their interest.

You'll have to tell us all about your job hunting when we meet.

Thanks tsa and Jelena, I'll try to find that perfect balance of standing out but not boasting.

The job is in the Netherlands, at the Donders Institute (where I do my internship). But the main language at the center is English, so applications have to be in English as well.

Donders! That is cool, you don't have to move when you get the job.

I know some Restaurant greek. "Logarismo paragallo" is "The bill please".

And of course the classic spanish sentence everyone should know. "Si, he dejado e liberdad los prisĂ*oneros e jahora vengo para ti!" (Probably full of incorrect spellings. I can only say it correctly I don't remember how it was written), which of course means "Yes, I have released your prisoners, and now I've come for you"

Hey AG Blog.

I'm so ready for school to get out. I'm getting worn down from all these papers and tests, and I'm ready to just be able to play my beloved games all day. But then again, I'll be back home, without Louie or fast internet. Or a job... and under my parents' suffocating view. (I know they mean the best, but still). So I'm kind of confused what I should be looking forward to. I wish I could just enjoy the present 100%.

Dear Aggie:

Tired. So tired. I feel like I need one of Aerosmith's Permanent Vacations. Or maybe just Max Webster's Million Vacations. That might do. Gotta actually be productive some of the time.

In other news, I may be losing my marbles. Stay tuned to this channel for late breaking developments.

I know what you mean. This semester is going to go down as one of the more hellish experiences of my life. I hate every single class I have, mostly because they're classes I have to take but don't especially want to (yay for liberal arts). For example, I have Sociology 330, Philosophy 209, and Chinese 102. The array of classes doesn't even make sense.

I have a lot of essays. Argh.
I can't say I've disliked the year though, as my self-esteem is rising!

I'm glad it's rising, Hammy.

Yes, I have one class that I absolutely hate, to the point of crying of frustration. And I've been feeling very socially awkward lately, but I can't say I hate school all together, especially my free time.

Thanks!
Sorry to hear you're stressed and feeling socially awkward... but you seem to have good things on the horizon like your marriage and stuff, and you're a likeable person (from what I can gather) so try not to worry to much.
