Default My car got hit by another car.

Sometimes I think I'm followed by bad luck. Today I was driving a bunch of kids (including my daughter) back home from a two days outing with all the
7th graders of their school.
This is on the countryside without a lot of traffic. I was standing in a crossing with somewhat poor visibility waiting to turn right when a car comes from behind and stops as well. He then thinks I'm starting to drive while I'm not, since a car just had emerged from left. He then drives into the back of my car with a loud bang and a real push that made us all move back and forward in an jerky, unpleasant way.
Thank God, none of us were injured by the push. As it seems anyway. I don't know if whiplash injuries can emerge on collisions like this one. He hadn't reached any speed at all, but still it was such a push on my car. I got real upset since I had children in the car but tried not to show it to the kids.

My car will get a new bumper and a new trunk cover (expression?). His car (Of course I know the man. He's a dad to another kid at school doing the same as I was, helping out to get the kids back from the outing) needs a whole new front.

How unfortunate, I'm sure that's some hassle you could do without.

My father did that to a woman once, he was at a roundabout, saw an opening, made the foolish assumption that the woman infront was going to move, and drove into the back of her.

Hmm, i've never heard that euphemism before, does your mother know? She should know, having an affair can provide solid ground for a divorce.

The moral of this story is, never assume another car is going to move until it does.

The important thing is no-one was physically hurt (stress is another matter) I presume the repairs will be down to his insurance as well. This is one of the reasons I don't drive. The roads are full of lunatics (Present Jelenas excepted) and I find leaping out of the way involves a lot less inertia than trying to move an entire car out of the way.

Here's a four leaf clover to improve your luck.

Thanks everyone!

I've printed the fourleaf clover and hung it on the wall next to my computer.

I'm glad to hear that nobody got hurt. And I'm sorry to hear that it happened.

It's always surprising how much impact even a small collision has. Not only on the car, but also on yourself. It's quite unpleasant.

Ah thanks!
First I was going to give you a kiss, but remembered how it makes you hide under tables. Wouldn't want that now that you're finally back on the forum!

Not from me anyway. I don't know if it's women in general or just me.
