Me neither. But then again, Sandman has a lot of artists.

I'm usually really good at this game, though. I studied comic art rather intensively (obsessively?) for a number of years, while preparing to create a few graphic novels of my own (still stalling).

The problem is, I can only think of a few contemporary comic artists who worked in a 'dark/cute' cartoon style (Kyle Baker; Hilary Barta; Judd Winick), and off the top of my head, that cartoon doesn't look like any of their styles.

*wanders around grumbling like the former comic geek he is*

Here's Death's Wikipedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_(Sandman)

There are spoilers in there for those who haven't read Sandman. She was illustrated by Mike Dringenberg and Malcolm Jones III in the Sandman comics but it looks like she was drawn by Chris Bachalo for her own comic. The one Lucien posted is Mike Dringenberg's (I think).

:)

Edit: I asked Squinky this exact question last week only I hijacked a thread in General to do it. :P

Lee in Limbo 08-16-2006 07:34 PM

Can't prove it (don't have the issue or a link to the art yet), but I think it was Marc Hempel.

Its from Sandman #68 - Kindly Ones.

I er... happen to have the issues on a CD.

Lee in Limbo 08-16-2006 08:56 PM

Drawn by Marc Hempel. *bows*

Squinky 08-16-2006 09:15 PM

Wow, you guys are good. All I did was pick out the picture I liked best from Google image search!

Lee in Limbo 08-16-2006 10:34 PM

Speaking for myself, I'm just a comic geek in exile.

samIamsad 08-16-2006 11:06 PM

Heh, well, I'm not, but I have this terrible crush. The kind of crush that keeps you up at night squeezing your pillow and/or worse. (Like: Staring at your screen for far too long). :D :\

Lee in Limbo 08-17-2006 12:26 AM

...um, yeah.

*wanders off scratching his head, before crawling into bed with his wife*

SakSquash 08-17-2006 09:55 AM

A whole thread on one persons avatar...

Melanie68 08-17-2006 10:08 AM

But it's fun because it's a cool avatar. :)

SakSquash 08-17-2006 10:12 AM

What's so cool about it?

Mine moves.
