Default Silent Hill Movie

They announced today that they're going to be making a Silent Hill movie. At first I thought it was bad news, they're probably going to make the movie into a standard action/horror movie, probably directed by <shudder> Uwe Boll.

But they actually seem to be doing this one right. They've got Christophe Gans directing, who made Brotherhood of the Wolf. It also said Konami is going to help a lot with the story and soundtrack, which are probably the best things about the games.

This movie better be good.

Normally I'd agree with you, but they did get Christophe Gans, and judging by Brotherhood of the Wolf, I think he's going to do a good job.

I'm with SamandMax on this one actually, it looks like they might be going for more of a mature movie than the typical dumbed-down-game-to-movie thing that has become the norm. They'll be heading in the right direction if they can only keep the atmosphere and music on the same level of the games.

Yeah, turns out the dogs from Snow Dogs and the kangaroo from Kangaroo Jack will both be making a cameo in the movie to make it more audience friendly.

Silent Hill could be turned into such a great movie, far better than Resident Evil. Let's hope they can do this right.
