Default A glimpse of paradise

*trips, and spills*

Where I was today.

The atmosphere doesn't carry in those photos, sadly - but I doubt any photo could, especially if lights are on. Today, the most powerful lighting came from the sun, through that roof, spreading itself in the hall and lighting it just perfectly, whilst casting eerie shadows. I sat in the foyer and I struggled not to weep.

How naive of me, to think I could just walk in there and work there, in that paradise.

The interview I was there for went well, all things considered - namely that I was hoping to a practical, which they don't offer, and that I, then, consider practicals to be something to aid me in finding out how to specialise my knowledge. I have a very, very broad knowledge base... but almost zilch specialisation. And my interests intersect with SinnerSchrader to 100%, which has come to be my curse. They like me (I'm sure - there was that distinct sensation of "on the same wavelength"). I like them. But it does seem I've not got what they're looking for. I know nothing of Ajax, for example, other than what it is; yet. I want to learn - I am flexible - but they're looking for experience.

It was worth it, just stepping into that world for an hour of my time, out of the scorching sun, into the perfect temperature and atmosphere.

A true 'Zen' moment.

Bliss.

It is with a vicious emotional fury that I want to work there. Now more than ever. I've been infected with this S2 bug since I saw one of their two founders, Mr. Schrader, hold a guest lecture at my university, and humbly asked for new employees, for people to work at this company who has understood the core point of marketing. I was stunned by how much a company could even resonate with me.

And now I have walked into their building, and I have met others - and they are wonderful people, people people, strangely, wonderfully competitive people people.

How naive of me.

Words, truly, cannot describe how worthwhile this day was, even though I have no realistic chance of getting snagged in, despite that I have one thing which they truly, truly want - enthusiasm, and a love for the basic concept. If I die any time in the near future, know I've died happily.

There's a longer story as to why I was there for an actual interview in the first place, which is very unusual in itself, but I'm far to dazzled right now to recap' that with any clarity.

My German is horribly rusty. I take it SinnerSchrader is an advertising company? If you got hired, what would you do there?

They're big in e-commerce. There are several parts of the company, doing different things. The place I went to belongs to "Neue Informatik", they're more fixed on the functional aspects, read as content management systems and related subjects. They don't work to work, they work for their customers. There's really very few company's that truly understand that. And like even fewer companies, they share that knowledge with their clients. SinnerSchrader make websites which really make you come back to them. Websites you learn to cherish.
