Cars... finally saw it

Finally got to see Cars tonight. Great as always, and I was a little suspicious going into this one.

Anyone else see it?

Intrepid Homoludens 06-11-2006 08:24 PM

Nope.

EDIT: So, how was it?

Maquisard 06-11-2006 08:29 PM

I did.

'Twas awesome. :)

tabacco 06-11-2006 08:29 PM

I liked it a lot. If you've seen Doc Hollywood you might recognize the basic plot, but it's got that same Pixar approach to character writing that I always enjoy.

Squinky 06-11-2006 09:25 PM

I wish I saw that today instead of the Da Vinci Code.

Maquisard 06-11-2006 10:05 PM

Rotten 'Maters is your friend (occasionally).

seebaruk 06-11-2006 11:54 PM

I'm not convinced by the trailer, I think that lisping 'yee-haw!' truck thing would just piss me off too much. I'll probably wait and just rent it.

Dasilva 06-12-2006 03:49 AM

French Accent: Dasilva only follow the Ferrari! *walks off*

lol. :D

Maquisard 06-12-2006 05:15 AM

That would be Italian. :shifty:

Sir, are you casting aspersions on Southern accents?

UPtimist 06-12-2006 09:28 AM

...

Cars?

Oh wait, a Da Vinci Code reference. Must be a movie then.

Admittedly, I am not a fan of Larry the Cable Guy, but I actually thought his character was pretty good in the film.

What the-?

It's an animation? And very children's-show-looking one too...

Lucien21 06-12-2006 10:18 AM

Big Fan of Toy Story/Finding Nemo/Incredibles but the trailers for Cars never really did it for me.

I don't see this being as big a success as Finding Nemo.

Nahh, not at all matey, but that guy really gets on my tits. They really needed a smart but perverted Southerner like you instead ;) First pixar film I've not looked forward to.

Of the 4 Blue Collar comedy guys, Bill Engvall is by far the funniest of the lot.

And Cars made $62.8 million over the weekend which isn't shabby.

Hehehe! I suspect Larry isn't really Southern at all. When he cracks up while joking around with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White (other Southern comedians on the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour"), he sometimes drops out of character and has a midwestern accent for a word or two.
