Oh my god. Luxuria music videos!
Though for some reason, I'm only sharing one of two. Careful: (1) blatantly cheap, (2) bizarre, (3) merrily without context. Reason for #3: Beast Box is the 12th music video on an album-music-video collection, and really just reiterates the others. I wish they had the Ticket one on YouTube, that one is freaky in all its simplicity.

Youtube? More like no sleep.
My favourite discovery of the evening remains one of the 'related' videos from Pinko's link, though. |

I could use some Youtube help if anyone cares to. My ultimate goal is to link videos of my children to my website.
For the learning curve I uploaded a video of me playing guitar but I can't find the video unless I go to "my account," then it's right there. Even though it's public and I have the settings so anyone can rag my ass, I simply cannot find it to work with it. Any Ideas? Help would be appreciated, big time. |

Youtube is a nutty idea, as far as profitability goes, when you think about it.
Yeah! Let's create a service that requires ridiculous amounts of bandwidth, limits the reach of advertisers due to its format, and opens us up to all kinds of copyright infringement lawsuits! We'll let everyone link to our videos directly, so you don't even have to come to our site to suck up our bandwidth! But somehow it took off. Yeah, I wish I could create something like that too. |

See, that's why I'm still surprised to this day that Youtube survived longer than a handful of weeks. Which brings up an important question - How do they make money, anyway?

They don't. They probably have multiple VC's that invested in the company.

I've heard it said that YouTube pays $1 million a month in bandwidth fees.
Love to see how that makes money.

After the burst of the .COM bubble, the new trend in tech companies has been to survive long enough to be acquired by a giant. You rarely see any new players popping up (besides google), but then you have all these companies like Flickr, Youtube or myspace that linger long enough to get bought up by bigger corporations. The main key for internet startups now is getting traffic, because that will interest companies like Google, Yahoo or Microsoft to buy you.
