In all honesty, I find that article pretty fascinating. I mean, it does make sense but the results are more substantial than what is indicated in the admittedly misleading and idiotic headline.

Nothing strikes me as original in the research, and I doubt it was a truely rigerous scientific study (i.e. 1000s of participants, randomised group allocation etc). It seems to be one of the many publicity grabbing research projects that institutes use to try to attract funding.

An example where that report might be flawed - Participants ate more from the bottomless bowl than from the none bottomless bowl. But how big were the bowls? Were they big enough to fill an average persons stomach to the point where they "feel full"? And what sort of appetites did the participants have? Someone overweight or very physically fit may have different appetites to someone of average build/weight.

Basically it's rubbish science imo and it's a real pity that it gets any attention at all.
