You're not in my head dude. (At least I hope not)

But, for a more considered discussion of this problem, I highly recommend the short story "The Electric Ant" by Philip K Dick. It's in volume 5 of his collected works which is called "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale" (The title story is cited as the inspiration for the film "Total Recall". All I can say is they didn't read the original story very carefully)
