Heh... they're great laptops. They do suffer from a wimpy keyboard compared to the powerbooks/macbook pros, though.

I can't afford those, so it'll have to be an older iBook.

Go with the g4 ibook if you can. The earlier g3 ibooks were notorious for hardware problems.

But they're soooooooooo expensive. I'll try. It'll take a while to save up.

$999 for the 12" ibooks, and that's new ($949 if you know someone with access to an academic discount). You could probably find a used one for less.

I recommend the 12" by the way. the 14" has a bigger screen, but it's still a 1024x768 display, so although it's bigger you can't run it at a higher res. Also the keyboard is the same size.

There's an OpenFirmware hack to enable secondary displays on the ibooks. That's good to know, I guess

Also... if you're a fan of Risk, check out Lux:
http://sillysoft.net/

They actually make Windows and Linux versions as well, but it's a great game for the Mac (if you're a fan)

I actually paid for it, even

The ability to download maps and join/host online games really sets it apart from other Risk clones.

I tired CIV III on it and the game was way too hard to figure out, so i'll keep searching for others. According to specs, Deus Ex will work.

I'm totally on my mac right now!! Woot woot!

I like it. In fact...I may be falling in love...

As for the game, if I get it, can I play you at it and crush you under my shoe?

It's funny that it's ALWAYS working.

People get their first Mac and get hooked, for like, forever.
