I love wcnews.com. Their optimism is fantastic - "EA announces an increase in profits: will this make them ready to revisit Wing Commander"? Their desperation is palpable, like certain adventure gaming fan sites, only more so. Gotta love 'em.

Seriously though, some guy is creating a multiplayer patch for Wing Commander Prophecy. BEST NEWS EVER.

'Pole to Pole' is a record of Palin's travels from the North Pole to the South Pole, travelling across as much land as possible. It's in eight episodes of about 50 minutes each, but (as you might expect) the vast majority of the trip is spent traversing Africa. I think the Estonia bit is only about 15 minutes in total, if that - he interviews a group of brothers who are singing banned(?) Estonian folk songs in the main square in Tallinn. He then spends an episode travelling through Russia by train, from "Leningrad" and on to Kiev, then across the Black Sea to Turkey. There's a great sequence of him trying to procure some vodka which feels just like a certain Dead Parrot Sketch...

It's a really good series, well presented, and it's the reason why I went to Tallinn last year. Great place!

Gaiman and Lenny Henry came up with the idea which was broadcast in 1996. Gaiman then decided to adapt it into his first novel and it was published in 1997.

There is also a comic book adaption that came out last year and Gaiman has occasionally spoken of writing a sequel.

Edit: I forgot to say I actually got the DVD set in Florida because even though the series was made by the BBC you can't acctually get the DVD in the UK.
Cool. Thanks. I'll have to see if it's on Netflix.

Volume 1 and 2 of "Inspector Montalbano"
(10 telemovies) Excellent adaptations of Andrea Camilleri's books.

Sealab 2021.
I have the whole thing. It don't mean butt if it ain't got that jut.

Firefly.
The series has some gems, but I thought the movie was pretty crap. And not because of that thing that happend you know... toward the end. Yeah that.

Aeon flux animated series
Including the mtv/liquid television shorts.

Ghost in the shell S.A.C. (season 1) and some of the second season (2nd Gig).

Blackadder, II, III (but not IV).

A couple of seasons of Harvey Birdman, Attourney at Law.

I have my eye on season one of Stripperella now. That or Venture Bros. or Deadwood, or Rome... geeze. Well Aussie TV sucks anyway so that's my excuse.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Essentials, vol. 1-8 & others
Futurama vol. 1-4
Seinfeld seasons 1-6
Family Guy vol. 1-2 (You know, before it turned to absolute shit)
Degrassi: The Next Generation vol 1 (Don't ask. 'Cause I don't know)

Why don't you people realize Adult Swim sucks (sans Futurama, Boondocks and sometimes Robot Chicken)?

Oh come on. You have to like The Venture Brothers. I don't care who you are.

I also like Sealab 2021. And some of the anime, but they aren't really responsible for creating those.

My supressed patriotism makes me wish Venture Bros. were shown in Australia. It features Melbourne's greatest ever resident! Although, from the short clips I've seen, that's about all it has...

And if I had any money, I'd own Batman: The Animated Series, Futurama, Cracker, Deadwood, Yes Minister, Father Ted, Blackadder and Carnivale.

A few select episodes were okay, but at the end of the day, it's pretty much ATHF underwater.

I have My So-Called Life, Life As We Know It, and Once and Again seasons 1 and 2 (hoping season 3 will be released at some point!) All excellent shows that were cancelled before their time. I watch these over and over and over.

We also have a Six Feet Under season and a few of the Sopranos, but have taken to renting those instead because we tend not to watch them more than once. We're currently midway through watching the first season of 24.

It's alright... I find it weird that they basically did a clip show in the first season, though.
