My exciting thing is that I've finally convinced my roommate to let me do some spring cleaning. He's even helping! The living room is currently almost clean for the first time in literally years (just need to finish filing the rest of the paper piles) and we're making some inroads on the computer room tonight. Yay!

Peace & Luv, Liz

P.S. Although it's kind of ironic calling it spring cleaning, since there's currently SNOW falling outside my window. Grrrrrrr.

It was really odd 'cause it seemed like he singled me out or something, I mean I've heard of drug induced psychoses but getting face to face (or fist to face ) with it is another thing, either this guy was hearing voices in his head or horribly misheard what I was saying, and he was standing like 3 meters ahead of me in line I highly doubt he even remembered the whole thing though, both before and after his eyes were big as your average Anime character and rolling all over the place (see the "crazy" smiley above ^). I guess the bouncers took notice though (and luckily let me in after a little talk), because his friends were eyeing me like they wanted to get back to me. I hate fights, especially when it ruins an otherwise good night out

If this is true, I also do not find it funny.

Shouldn't they be reported if this is true?

I didn't say what she said was funny, just how she said it and how much she wanted to tell me. Like I would do a story on it or something.

Right, though your words were easily misinterpreted Anyway either she's craving for attention (for one reason or another) and makes up something crazy like or it's actually true.. Either case, I would report it to someone (police/"child care" or whatever it's called over there) for obvious reasons.

The FSU Film School turned me down...

but on the positive side the UF Honors Program accepted me.

You applied for film school too? Awesome (though sorry to hear you didn't get in). So what does UF and FSU stand for?

Florida State University and University of Florida. I dont have money to go out of state... FSU has a great (and very elite, selective) film school, but UF, while lacking a film school proper, still allows to major in it, so I'd be happy with that for undergrad.

I might try to get into a bigger film school in a few years.

What schools did you apply to and whats the word on them?

Nice, perhaps UF even allows you to flow through to FSU (not the right term here but you know what I mean) for the second or third year, atleast that's a possiblity here I think. I've applied to NFTA (Dutch Film and Television Academy) here in Amsterdam - they have a splendid reputation in Netherlands and even Europe as a whole. I could've applied to Utrecht's Film Academy but they only have general 4 year programs as opposed to the more specialized 4 year program I'm hoping to get in (where there are separate majors such as directing fiction or documentary, editing, sound, visual effects, screenwriting etc. as opposed to one big whallop filled with training I won't be needing at Utrecht). I could've applied to a school in the far south of NL, but thesame goes for that, no specialised schooling. Anyway the NFTA is horribly selective as well, only 72 students get in for *all* majors (for example only 6 for directing fiction and 6 for directing documentary). I'm still awaiting word if I got through to the next round (where you get an interview with a commision) - if they liked my material (did the editing for a short and wrote a screenplay) I might get through, and here's hoping. Still, if they turn me down I'll just try again next year and write/direct/edit films in the meantime so I'll have more material next time around. My mind is set though - NFTA, NFTA, NFTA (all the way, yay! ). Did you have to give your own material with your application as well? And what do you want to major in?

PS. What/which film school(s) has/have the best rep. in the US?

He seems a very nice guy and he was most appreciative of my compliments regarding his work.
Short of winning the lottery, I don't think I could possibly be any more tickled than I am right now. This will definitely be a red letter day in my diary!

I'm very glad for you. I wrote to those bastards at Natsume 10 days ago and still no answer. Bloody corporations.

Relocation - Sun, palm trees, Hollywood, and wotnots. Sunglasses are way of life here, not so much for fashion but because it's that f#&king sunny and bright all the time!

Professional - Resumes sent out, waiting for bites, ongoing til offer. Feeling far more confident here where opportunities are many.

Passion - Writing samples being sent to literary journals, project novel embarked on soon.

Family - Dad's suffered bit of a heart attack, was in ICU, has since been taken to regular room, hopefully will do some rehab before coming home. Am preparing for his iminent passing, but screw me, it's mom I want to catch when she falls.

Social - Working on continuing support group, investigating social network via lifestyle community possibilities.

Love - We'll see. This is a huge city after all. Got more important things to work on atm. However, the attention I've been getting is dizzying. Certainly helps when they're gorgeous AND they check you out. Already developing swains. Beats living in backwoods Oregon, where one is never allowed to be truly one's self.

In other words, it's all about progress and grabbing opportunities by the balls and giving myself the chance I deserve. I am forging ahead, not sitting in the corner feeling sorry for my ass and making excuses to not at least try.

I hope your dad recovers. I understand this must be hard to go through. Good though that you are "at home" when a thing like that occurs. Take care of your mom, you´re pretty close aren´t you?

Thanks, Lena. He's no longer in ICU but is still being fed through a tube. Nanay's good, she's been visiting him every single day and spending all day there each time. I went to go see him the other day (when he was still in ICU) and stroked his head and held his hand for an hour. I hate hospitals, they're so damn clinical. If it's time for Dad to go we want him to be at home, where he'll be surrounded by pure love at least.

I'm close to Nanay, yes. It's all I can do to comfort her, give hugs and eat her cooking . I haven't been able to accompany her to hospital all the time 'cause I'm job hunting and getting myself set up here (went to appointments at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, etc.). Just a lot of things happening and due to happen.

Sorry to hear that trepsie. Is he concious some/all of the time? I remember when my dad got a heart-attack and slipped into a coma unexpectedly, it was especially hard on my mom. I got called out of class at high school and thought to myself "What did I do this time?", thinking I was being called to the principal's office for the millionth time, but then in the hallways a teacher told me what'd happened and that my mom was going to pick me up on her way to the hospital. I/we held his hand too for hours on end, but it went pretty quickly and two days later he had his final heart-attack. Looking back I would've given anything to talk to him one more time, so if he is concious, make sure to use that opportunity, as it can always be your last Perhaps this was too forward but in any case, good luck!

He was conscious, yes. He recognized me and attempted to talk but his muttering was incomprehensible.

At one point I could've sworn I heard him saying something like the word 'die', but I couldn't be sure. Still, I'm probably better having accepted the fact that he may not be with us much longer, and I know I'll be devastated. However, it's my mom I need to be strong for, her fall will be much farther and harder than mine, and I must be a safety net for her. I'm so happy I moved down here instead of stayed longer in Oregon or moved back to Chicago. It just feels right being here, even with this iminent sadness.

Told Dad that I love him just before I left, and will keep telling him every time I see him. I've been telling him all the time. That's very important. Even if you never ultimately get along with a parent, just those 3 simple words can close chasms created by years of distance.

One of the truths of life. I don´t always like what my children say or do, but I always love them.
