Fishies

This is the thread where tabacco tells us all about what kind of fish he has, and why altering the pH of the tank is a bad idea!

Go ahead, tabacco. :D

tabacco 03-10-2006 12:58 AM

I didn't say it was a bad idea, I just said beware of drastic changes :p

Stoofa 03-10-2006 12:59 AM

Why aren't you telling us what kind of fish you have? I bet you just have a BETTA.

Do you have real plants in your tank? Is your tank nicely set up or is it ugly?

SakSquash 03-10-2006 01:00 AM

Oh yeah, serve me up some of that!

NOT! Fish is nasty gross. You're all going to burn in hell.

Stoofa 03-10-2006 01:02 AM

That fish looks like Steven Cojocaru.

Intrepid Homoludens 03-10-2006 01:06 AM

http://smilies.vidahost.com/otn/sad/smily77.gif You can't hug seahorses.*

* Which explains why I don't keep fish.

Why aren't you laughing at my Cojocaru joke? Am I the ONLY person on earth who loathes the man? I bet he EATS seahorses.

No, no bettas :p

Sine my tank can't support all that many fish without the ammonia going out of control, I'm sort of limited to smaller fish. And, since I don't have any money, I'm also limited to cheaper fish. I don't really see either of these as a problem, though, since there are lots of smaller and cheaper fish that I quite enjoy :)

A couple of reddish tetras which I have forgotten the official name of and am too lazy to look up but which are red with black fins
a small assortment of mollies/platys
some zebra danios (awesome little fish)
and of course some neon tetras because although they are the generic starter aquarium fish, I think they're neat :)
Oh, and a plecostomus.

Also, I try to keep my tank as ugly as possible. :p

That's a guy?

Intrepid Homoludens 03-10-2006 01:11 AM

I dunno, but does HIS butt smell?

Oh, and a plecostomus.

Ohh is it a bristlenose pleco? I'd quite like one of them.

I love tetras! I think they are so neat, especially when they school.

I don't know if a peaceful tank like I want could handle danios. I saw some at my local fish store and they were zooming around like little torpedoes.

Yes and he looks like a giant rotten anglerfish and he whinnies like a hysterical mare. He is possibly the most irritating man to exist in North America. Oprah etc. love him and treat him like their token little gay friend (which annoys me even MORE). I have to stop talking about him now, my blood pressure is rising.

Heh... yeah, they are basically piscine torpedoes, but I still like 'em :)

Silver Mollies are nice for a peaceful tank. Plus if you're adding a backdrop color, they look really good against dark blue. They also have a more vacant expression than most fish, so they're kind of amusing to watch.

Anyway, I am off to bed.

Intrepid Homoludens 03-10-2006 01:16 AM

I'm serious. I adore seahorses. They're therapy to me.

But you can't hug them. That's why I prefer kittens.

Seahorses will not shred your face :)

Intrepid Homoludens 03-10-2006 01:18 AM

It's not that. They're just all wet and I'm scared I might squish it in the process.

http://weblog.bluedonkey.org/photos/seahorse1.jpg

How can you NOT wanna hug it?

Oh, you meant that kittens have claws, didn't you?

Stoofa 03-10-2006 01:19 AM

Seahorses are way endangered, not very hardy, and are difficult to breed (although I think someone's figured it out). So as much as I adore seahorses I'd never keep one in an aquarium. Sniff.

Trep, you could make your cat a seahorse costume!
