The Car Thread
After shamelessly hijacking Colpet's thread, I've bowed to public pressure and started a thread about cars in general. :)
So... What have you got? What do you want? Which cars do you love? Which cars do you hate? |
Well I drive a Ford Fiesta (see ColpetsThread)
If I had all the money in the world I would buy one of these. Aston Martin DB9 |
I drive a Volkswagen Jetta ´86, 1.6 litres..

(I was horrified when they had 007 driving a BMW! :r ) As Astons go, I've always been a big fan of Lagondas. http://www.hubcapcafe.com/i/2002/ell...t/a_m_8401.JPG Since Ford owns Aston Martin now, there's no excuse for Lincoln Town Cars being the shapeless blobs they've become. I think the crisp, tuxedo-tailored lines of a Lagonda are a far better inspiration. |
'93 Chevy S-10 Pickup, '95 Dodge Dakota pickup, '98 Chevy Cavalier, '03 Ford Sportrac.

A black 2000 Toyota Echo - gets 37-40 mpg (even after having it for 5.5 years) and has a manual transmission. :)

I drive a 1996 Ford Probe. The picture below isn't my Probe, but it's the same model and colour: (The only difference is the amber light in the bumper, which is completely white in my car)
http://www.cluelessbot.com/sub/nmpoc...bino1.PGT3.jpg I had a Volvo 480 before this car. Edit: I still have a picture of my previous car. I really like pop-up headlights, don't I? http://erbserv.emptyhouse.net/public...ar-2005-01.png --Erwin |
I drive a silver Honda Civic (can't remember which series) :). I love it! Just nice
|
I've got a '96 Toyota Corolla wagon, lt blue, and it still gets 30mpg.

A 2000 Ford Focus 1.4 litres 5 door hatchback, much like this one in colour (except with more doors :P)
http://www.nextcar.com.au/i.ford.focus.st170.rear.JPG With these 18" rims (LOL, I sound like Xzibit there for a moment :D) http://www.mg-tuning.com/imagenes/ll...RLEGGERA-3.jpg It has a customizable/adjustable KW suspension kit on, so I can change the stiffness/height of respectively the suspension/car depending on what I need, currently it's at about 7cm/2.8inches above the road, which pretty much sucks it to whatever road I drive on. It also has a K&N "airfilter", the OZ Superlegera III 18" rims shown above and some minor tweaks to the fuel and air intake system. Drives like a dream and does great mileage. I like a lot of cars (too much to list anyhow), but here are some off the top of my mind: VW Golf (the new one is Sexy with a capital S) Toyota Aygo Ford Focus ST 2005 and ST220 in sexy eletric orange :9~ VW Jetta Alfa Romeo 147 GTA :9 Also, the Spider, GTV, GT-Coupe and Brera Aston Martin DB7, DB9, Vantage, Lagonda and Volante Spyker C12 :9~ (I must get PGR3 for xbox 360 to drive this awesome dutch beast) Maserati Bi-Turbo, Ghibli, Quatroporte and Khamsin (the classic ones) Renault 5GT Turbo, Clio RS Nissan Skyline GTR Peugeot 405 (mainly because of Taxi :P) Mazda MX-5, RX-7 Classic Mini Mitsubishi EVO series Citroen DS  Jaguar E-Type, XK, XKR (classics) Ford Mustang (not the new one) Dodge Charger (classic) Pontiac Firebird (classic) Honda Civic, NSX, Element Fiat Cinquecento, Punto, Coupe BMW M3/M5 (classic) Audi Quatro (classic) and RS4/RS6 :9~:9:9~ Donkervoort D8/S8 :P VW Beetle (classic) Ferrari Testarossa, 360 Modena/Spider, 575 Koenigsegg CCR VW/Bugatti Veyron Porsche 911 GT3 Lamborgini Diablo, Gallardo, Murcielago, Countach TVR Tuscan And I'm probably forgetting a lot of cars, especially classics. Still, I know I'm crazy :P  What I don't like is too much to list, but generally ugly design or beautiful cars gone bad (due to bad exterior alteration, or "pimping" ;)). One day I'll have a garage full of crazy cars, one day.. :D edit: damn I can't find one single picture of my car anywhere on my computer or memory sticks. |
You guys are rich, why don't you give me some of your money so that I can buy cool cars like you do? :)
I drive a 1986 Honda Civic. http://www.netikka.net/kolzig/civic_gt08.jpg |

I have a '89 Ford Taurus, which is one of the first cars my parents bought when they moved here. It runs fine still, with some fixes required along the way, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's close to a major malfunction. I'll get something new if that happens.

Like about 50% of the people in my home town I do not have a car at all.
This apparently means I'm deprived. :frown: Would that be deprived of the cost of insurance, tax, fuel and repairs? Deprvied of the nightmare of finding a parking space near where I live? Deprived of the being seen as a handy taxi service by friends that want to go out drinking but without walking. Most of the time public transport and walking does fine for me. OK, admittedly not ideal for what I have to do tomorrow morning but most of the time. |
Get a moped.

If I could choose anything, it would be a:
http://www.delorean-owners.org/image.../car_main1.jpg But for now, it'll have to be something less kick ass. |
An old boss of mine had a 1970's Porsche (can't remember the exact model) and a 1962 baby blue, convertible Jaguar that was originally owned by Jerry Lewis. Sadly, this boss passed away very suddenly in 1995 and his widow also worked at the clinic I was at. About 6-7 months after he passed away, the clinic got a call for someone wanting to speak to Dina (his widow) and it was Jerry Lewis. He had somehow heard about his death and is a big animal lover. I don't know what Dina eventually did with the car.
I think it looked like this - it was a cool looking car: http://www.sportscarmarket.com/img/profiles/268/j1.jpg |

I drive a Renault Twingo, so I win the smallest car in the forum contest.
http://www.renault.fr/RenaultSITe/pu...go_twi7/p1.jsp (mine is white... well, kinda white) Of course, since I mostly drive all around Paris, having a very small car is a blessing. |
