Why Our Chatroom is A Failure...

Post your thoughts.

Maquisard 02-19-2006 08:32 PM

Because of my absence in said chatroom?

nikoniko 02-19-2006 08:48 PM

Been too busy watching curling.

lumi 02-19-2006 09:00 PM

Because I can't stand you guys for longer than it takes to make a post.

Toefur 02-19-2006 09:01 PM

I think it started to fail the moment I poked my head in to see if anyone was there. At least #ags is on the same server.

Watcher of the skies 02-19-2006 09:01 PM

Because, you changed your name, and we miss Ron Jeremy?

Mike

Stoofa 02-19-2006 09:01 PM

Because for some bizarre reason people go there and don't chat. Am I missing what the primary function of a chatroom is?

nikoniko 02-19-2006 09:46 PM

Yes, you're missing it completely. It's not coincidence that the letters of 'irc chatroom' can be rearranged to read 'rich coma rot'.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe Ron Jeremy = Saksquash? I mean, look at how hairy the dude is.

Maquisard 02-19-2006 10:24 PM

And the guy does squash his ballsack for a living.

Lucien21 02-19-2006 10:36 PM

I blame Glottis

This is correct. People just hang about then post "goodbye". Hell, when I first went there and berated people for not talking Aga accused me of ADD! :P

If it weren't for Glottis no-one would have anything to do right now!

Wormsie 02-20-2006 01:42 AM

Because we've got the forums to fill our chatty needs.

AFGNCAAP 02-20-2006 02:34 AM

What Glottis?

Yeah.

Karmillo 02-20-2006 03:29 AM

Well theres never more than 10 people in the chatroom....maybe if more joined then it would be more chatty.

Jeysie 02-20-2006 04:50 AM

Nah, number has nothing to do with it. My roleplaying group's channel only ever has 4 people in it (and occasionally 1 or 2 guests) , yet we manage to chat up a veritable storm. Ask Pink. ;)

I'm always willing to reply to any conversation that looks like I can add to it, but whenever I go in nobody's talking. So I wait around until somebody says something I can respond to... which tends to take a while. But anyhoo.

As for "ADD"... I have to admit a complaint... there's a few people who have this IMHO kind of annoying tendency to

type a few words per line
instead of putting it all on one line
which makes it incredibly hard
to keep up with the conversation
you see

:P

Peace & Luv, Liz

Sage 02-20-2006 05:13 AM

I suspect a lot of the people who show as "logged on" have more bandwidth to spare than I do, and aren't actually paying any attention to the chatroom.

I have my reasons for doing that (normally when I need to post a reply before someone else in order to make them realise that I'm still typing), but, I agree, it's a bad habit.

saucyminx 02-20-2006 05:48 AM

Because Glottis glomps people a lot.

And because Glottis called me "SJH's tasty wench".
