My dusty and neglected teddy was seized by Teddy Bear Welfare Services when I was near six years old, and given to my cousin for adoption. I mourned his loss so much that my parents decided to give me another chance at plush-hood, so they brought me home my very own Q*Bert.

Squeeze his nose and he honks!

I used to have a little teddy bear with reddish-brown fur, and engineer's cap, and denim overalls that I named Rusty. (Heh, I was so original as a kid. ) I used to carry him around everywhere... I even remember the time when there was a "Teddy Bear First-Aid" thingy at the local hospital, and poor Rusty suffered a temporary broken arm with a sling and everything. (Obviously there was an OSHA violation at his factory.)

I can't remember what happened to Rusty... I want to say that I gave him away to one of the younger foster kids I knew as a teen, but I'm not sure.

In the realm of non-teddy bears, I still have two of my other childhood dolls.

One is a little farmer girl doll, decked out in an old-fashioned gingham dress with apron, petticoat, and hat. Name: Little Elizabeth.

The other is a doll shaped like a 3D gingerbread man, but made of pastel plaid fabric. His name is Check. (Oh man, the creativity of all my naming just floors me! Floors me, I tell you! )

I still have my baby blanket, too, which has the same plaid pattern as Check does (they came as a set). Makes a handy "eye mask" to block out light while I'm sleeping.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Ummm...blue and white are the colors of Chanukkah (sp?), and the Star Of David on the bear's foot makes him official. Still cute though.

What kind of sexism is this? Unlike, say, dolls, teddy bears were never gender-specific toys.

Oops now I understand his confusion . Ah well, a teddy bear is still a teddy bear. Hang on, let me scrounge up another adorable one for our adorable Ninth :

And this one is apparently a French bear?:

I had a stuffed dog (not a real one, obviously ) which I slept with till I was like eight year's old. I couldn't sleep without it too, till I lost it one day and was forced to. Then when I was about thirteen orso I found it back, washed it and now it's sitting in my closet staring at me wih those puppy eyes as I get dressed

It was. As Scott guessed, I was taken aback by the David star.

And thanks for the Teddy Bear. You know, it's funny 'cause my favorite bar is called the Teddy's Bar.

I loathe teddy bears, especially teddybears with clothes on. People even send me cards featuring teddybears just to enrage me.

I didn't have a teddy anyway, I had a stuffed koala named...Koala. I also had a stuffed mouse named...Mousie. Not a good naming track record, that. If I ever have a kid I'll end up just calling him "boy" like Foghorn Leghorn.

Well, then, it's settled. I'll have to send in a picture of my old teddy bear with clothes on, because the thought of enraging Stoofa with so little effort is so tempting. Oh, I'm not taking it yet- a few hours from now.

I have one of these, a Cthulhu plushie.
Hug him or he will swallow your soul.
(HP Lovecraft would be so pissed if he was alive and see what they did with his creation)

Although i never hug my Cthulhu, because i´m a big strong man, and men dont do that kinda stuff.

Now that's a "teddy" I can get behind.
