I actually have some ugly dents on my aluminum siding right at the front of the house. I can just replace the dented portion and stay with aluminum but I was told that it might be better for me to spend some more money and replace the whole thing with vinyl, which will not be subject to dents and is near maintenance free. Decisions, decisions.

Oh and for Karmilo's sake, I will just add that sex does seem to be a lot better with a house with vinyl since it can contract and expand at will. So go for vinyl if you like sex. Or something.

Or, if you're a fair hand with a tinsmith's hammer you could just take down the dented panels, bang out the dents, and put them back up before painting.

True, but aluminum stays hard all the time and doesn't shrink when it gets cold...advantage-aluminum!
