Default OK, Tabacco, you're gonna love this...

I bought an I-Pod.

See? At least I've got the guts to admit defeat.

Admittedly the new Creative was what I was after. It's much more feature packed and better for video. But it looks like a friggin' brick made of plastic... sure, features are important, but so's carrying the thing around. The new i-Pod might be wide, but its slim and at least has a touch of class.

I've joined the dark side.

... er... as in bought a black one. But anyone would do the same in Japan as they're over $100 cheaper here.

Smart of you to buy one out of Europe anyway. European iPods have lower max volume settings than other iPods because of some legislation there.

$100?! Damn, that's a price knock.

I have an I-Pod Mini (8gb space) and I don't regret the purchase for an instant. It's a really funky system, good sound quality, easily fits in my pocket, plus you can randomise track selection, so you're not likely to hear the same tunes all the time, unless by choice. The only slight concern I have is the white earphones (which are easily changed).

I really don't see anything bad about having one, aside from the fact that everyone has one, and they're considered "cliche mp3 entertainment".

Hope you enjoy your new purchase, dude.

Well, I'm glad I did the right thing... I didn't know about the volume issues in the EU. Certainly is loud when I use it!

Btw i-Pod mini's are really sought after now, you can't buy them in Britain at least. They're going for more than they were on release now as they're a fashion item.

Right. The Mini kind of came in, then went out and was replaced by the Nano. I originally wanted a Nano, but I'm kind of glad I didn't get one, they almost seem very easy to lose, heh.

*goes to check ebay to see how much they go for...*

In looks terms, no contest. OK, there's more to the one above, for certain, but it's also $30 more expensive... and it's incredibly heavy and bulky for something to carry around with you.

Creative did have a great thing going with the Zen Micro, which looked aces and didn't try to "go" i-Pod. The latest one, the Zen Photo, has a horrible raised front which makes it look cheap and now the plastic Zen Vision M means they've really fallen behind in looks. It also feels nasty to use, all big clicks. The screen is great, and the fact that it uses so many different codecs, but still - do you really want to carry a breeze block?

(Mine's black, heheheh)

My wife got me a 20 gig Creative Zen Sleek for Christmas. I haven't had any problems with it, yet.

I've got a Zen Micro and I've never had issues with it. I'd prefer to have a Creative, but they're really holding back in terms of design now... you may argue features are more important, but with the M you're also paying for those features.

I stick by my Creative MuVo. It has the better sound quality in my opinion.

To be honest... who cares? I like my iPod, you like you MuVo, everyone else likes their player, whatever it is. Arguing about which one is best is just pointless.

I agree. And I don't even have an MP3 player.

I like any mp3 players that don't burn a hole in my pocket.

So, if anybody gets tired of their mp3 players, feel free to donate them my way .

Then I'll go back to the ancient ways and cut off his limbs.

I always thought you had to avoid eye contact. At least, that's how it works with cats
