Default Maybe my mind is in the gutter, but...

"Daly shoots 69 with wife in jail"

Is that not the most poorly worded headline ever for a sports story? Seeing it on MSN made it even more confusing, I wasn't aware that it had anything to do with sports. It turned out to be a golf story, but geez...

Do I have a dirty mind or does that give everyone the same picture?

Oh, you mean how does it pertain to golf? Well, it means the guy's wife just started a prison sentence or something, but he shot a 69 anyway...which is good.

I've read that he doesn't like it when his balls get all sandy.

Just in case that wasn't lame enough

Wasn't there a whole innuendo-laden e-mail about golf (in the bedroom ) a few years ago?

Wouldn't surprise me, there's endless opportunity for crappy innuendoes about balls, holes, getting it in the rough, etc etc.

Just reminded me of that great Bottom episode where Eddie teaches Richie how to play chess.

Richie: Right, let me get this sorted out. Now the bent vicar stands next to the Queen, and the Queen goes in every direction.
Eddie: That's right.
Richie: And they let children play this, you say? I mean, it's pretty
strong stuff, isn't it Eddie? You know, knights taking prawns, and
apparently if a prawn goes all the way he turns into a queen!

Oh, man! This is priceless!

Speaking of cluelessness, a really good friend of mine was home-schooled in a rigid Catholic environment, and even though she is really bright, I fear that she doesn't pick up a lot of innuendo or vernacular. Expressions such as contraband brownies or tea-bagging or the King Poon (the name of a character from a really awful bootleg Engrish translation of a Kurosawa movie that cracked us up for weeks) go right over her head. Some times I wonder if she goes home after hanging out with us all and googles the esoteric gutter lingo we used.

I got the innuendo. Not the golf.
