But doesn't Depardieu get killed by Nazis at the end of 1900 (granted, not decapitated). Still, confusing as hell

From my *very* hasty research after you posted your answer, it looked as Depardieu character isn't killed in 1900. Obviously, not having seen it, I can't say with certainty.

Straw Dogs. I'll wait for confirmation because I'm not 100% certain. She called Straw Dogs the first American fascist work of art or something. Maybe another film was just, "the first American fascist film."
