The walkman started portable music waaaaaaay before the iPod or even the mp3 format ever existed.

It's more important in the same way that Atari is more important than the PS2 or that Pong is one of the best games ever.

I'm not an idiot. I know that the Walkman was way before every other portable music device. I just think that they're making historical importance too big of a deal. It shouldn't be number one.

And Pong is not one of the best games ever. I don't care how old it is.

Yeah they seem to be focusing on what came first, not whats better.

Atari may have been the first console but the NES is what made consoles more popular
