Rocky lives again!

Now all we need is Apollo Creed to come back from the grave and everything will be allright. :D

Love that music. Interesting that it'll be called Rocky Balboa as opposed to Rocky VI. Also, Rocky is back in the ring, as opposed to training a n00b, as they said he would. Anyway, I'm glad an old-timer can still reprise his most famous role. Harrison Ford, I hope you're taking notes. :shifty:

Dasilva 01-06-2006 10:34 AM

One was enough. lol

samIamsad 01-06-2006 05:19 PM

Everybody who has seen Copland knows that Sly can actually.... act! :D There was also news about a new Rambo movie?!

Maquisard 01-06-2006 05:22 PM

Please no!? :\

It doesn't help that he has Bell's palsy.

Kolzig 01-06-2006 11:10 PM

Yeah a new Rambo's on it's way also, but first we'll have Philadelphia's own homeboy Rocky make a comeback.

So we can surely say that Mr. Stallone is filled with *new* ideas to stir up his career. :D

samIamsad 01-01-2007 02:09 PM

Hmmmmm, doesn't look all too bad at all! http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/rocky_balboa/

Kolzig 01-01-2007 02:16 PM

Heheh, I kind of hoped that it would be good.

And I just found out yesterday that Rocky Balboa movie is coming to Finland after all this Friday! I'm hoping it will come to Vaasa also, then I can go check it with my dad. :)

I know--a dark- secluded place--a place--where no one knows your face--a glass--of wine--a fast embrace--it's called--Hernando's Hideaway. Ole!

samIamsad 02-11-2007 05:16 AM

There is at least one person on the interweb who is mightily pissed and confused.

Jatsie 02-11-2007 05:29 AM

Hehe, that's funny. That guy must have done a lot of research!

samIamsad 02-11-2007 05:50 AM

Indeed. :D There's also been a VERY good interview with Sly in the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, for those of you who are familiar with German. Cool guy, really.

SZ: In the sequels to "Rambo" and "Rocky" you lambasted Viatnamesians, Afghans and Russians like no other. Let's be honest, weren't these movies kinda...

Stallone: Asinine?

SZ: Yep.

Stallone: Don't be so shy!

SZ: That means?

Stallone: Those movies weren't asinine. They were super asinine.

Quote:

Stallone: When Reagan was holding a "Rambo" poster and said: "Us Americans have to handle the issues here in Libya like this guy!" I was sitting in front of the TV and thought: holy shit.
:D

When then asked about this upcoming "Rambo" movie...

Quote:

SZ: You're indeed going to make a final "Rambo" movie, right?

Stallone: Right. I have to.

SZ: You have to?

Stallone: I owe it to the studio to make another one... but they are gonna be surprised.

SZ: Why?

Stallone: Because John Rambo will be sitting around as an embittered, old atheist, he hates the World, America, himself and most of all: God. Religion is gonna take a big part in this, and what harm it can do.
Interesting.

Kolzig 02-11-2007 07:21 AM

That Rambo part is excellent!

I can't wait to see that movie. :D
Though I still haven't seen the new Rocky, I missed it at the movie theaters... :frown:

SZ: If somebody had told me in 1987 that in 2007 Schwarzenegger would be governor of California, and would be lobbying for environmentally sound cars, and that at the same time I would be talking with you about love and honesty and such, I would have passed out.

Stallone: You see, it's never over until it's over.
Just such a great read. :D :D :D

I didn't know that Col. Trautman died four years ago..

samIamsad 05-21-2007 12:29 AM

Trailer stuff. Pretty brutal, actually.

Kolzig 05-21-2007 09:17 AM

Yeah, John Rambo is back. :D

Stallone is kicking up with the R-rated stuff, this ain't going to be no PG-13 movie. ;)

samIamsad 05-21-2007 11:29 AM

Well, what he said about the movie in the interview above made me curious, but the last minute or so of that trailer makes it look like your typical Stallone/Schwarzenegger/Chuck Norris (:D) 80s action flick. Explosions, bare breasts (only men of course) and one-liners ("Killing is as easy as breathing."). We'll see.

Am I the only one that had enough of this with Rocky 1 (and never watched a Rambo)?

RLacey 05-22-2007 12:44 PM

I've never seen any of the Rocky or Rambo films.

In a bid to educate myself, I've ordered a boxset of Rocky 1-5 for £12.59. Given that the 2-disc release of Rocky on its own costs about £10, that seemed like a good deal to me...
