Looks good. What's it for?

EDIT: On second look, I'd say take out the little faint "CONTROL" letters in the background. They distracted me too much, when I noticed them, and made me feel like I was watching an UNDER CONSTRUCTION sign.

For an adventure game. I thought posting it in the adventure game forum gave it away.

Yeah, but... is it yours? Or a commercial game? Or maybe your own commercial game?

Sorry for being a bit vage (sp?) but this project is very much under wraps. It is a comercial project, it is the debut game of a new company that will be launched soon. Just wanted some thoughts on the poster.

And yes I'm working on it with a few talented close friends.

Ah, nice. It's good it's a commercial project, because A) this thread would've ended up in the Amateur Adventures section and B) AudioSoldier would be all over this thread declaring sh*t and f*ck as descriptive words for the game.

EDIT: Yeah, forgot. It's vague, I think.

Has this been edited or am I just going blind?

You're going as blind as me. I had to look REALLY hard to see the other two CONTROLs beneath the main image.

Aah. I see them now. Well, I'll just declare them entirely pointless, as on my (relatively) high-resolution LCD screen I never noticed them. And yeah, they are distracting once you know they're there.

Given the background graphics seem intended to imply that everything is very much NOT under control I think the foreground lettering is a bit too crisp. I think you need a bit of wavering in the main message to emphasise the lack of clear form in the background.

Unless I'm missing the point entirely that is. If you feel like letting on a bit more about the message you're trying to convey it might help in evaluating the poster better. Might be best to let a few more first impressions post before doing that though. (Uninfluenced first impressions are usually more useful)

For the first part of the day, the image was blocked. Possibly because of the WMF problem. Looks good, but have no idea what the purpose is. Is this cover art for a new game?

Assuming everything isn't under control, I'd try to set up more conflict between the "CONTROL" and the clean text of "EVERYTHING IS UNDER". Something more like this, though not necessarily this heavy:

Cheers,

Thats the perfect effect I was trying to get. What program did you use? I use Photoshop 9 CS 2. Could you tell me how it was accomplished? Thanks.

I just didn't want to make the background ''control'' text to stand out, its just lurking there. :p

I like the original, and the way CONTROL looks shows that there's not much of it. More than the one doporoso did, really, but maybe something in-between would be even better.

Your right. The CONTROL text is too faint, I just need to meet between. There are some extra things Im adding to the poster. I'll post it when its done.

I'm going to scoot this thread over to Chit Chat, since there isn't any discussion of the actual game going on.

I think the new Poster, who goes by the name of "Everyhting is Under Control" contributes a lot to the forums. I hope he sticks around.
