I don't get it. You could win the prize if all you do is spam? Is this contest not merit based (I wouldn't actually consider the most posts a merit)? How plebeian.

Trep, I selected the top posters, including you, because it seemed like those were the ones who most wanted SJH's drawing. Since high post count wasn't the initial premise - being last poster was, it didn't seem that spamming was going to produce a win. As I post this there is a three-way tie among Jaz, Scott, and Robbie-boy. Now everyone gets to vote the one most deserving of the prize.

Well, to be honest, I was posting just for fun. Not to disrespect squaresie's talent, and I'm sure the artwork would be worth getting, but I don't compete in these kinds of things.

Hmmm, having checked the voting record it would appear the populace in this context consists of, um ...... you. Not proving the most successful campaign strategy so far.

When I started posting I didn't even realise there was an actual prize up for grabs. Reckon I'll leave the competition and campaigning to those that were paying more attention in the first place.

Ditto. Have fun with the popularity contest, kids. I'm not voting.

PS. This is simply precious:

Aw, "popularity contests"... grow up, kiddo's, it's all just silly stuff, stop trying to press your adult insecurity issues into it!

It's the only resolution anyway unless I just selected someone off my own criteria. And that'd be Mira.

Incidentally, January 31st can't be the end date. The end date is this Monday regardless as I've got a lot of work coming up. Have fun, folks!

Given how keen people seem to be to get your artwork I think the only person really winning a popularity contest here is yuo SJH. (Or at least your artistic skills are)

Adult insecurity? I hardly ever think of myself as an adult, and, if anything, I spend too much time on "silly stuff". It's just that a look-I-voted-for-you-I'm-your-friend poll is not my idea of fun. However, my wishing fun to those who do enjoy it, is sincere.

By the way, my "kids" was semi-affectionate, much as your "kiddo" (that is, I hope yours was )

Yes it was, but I'm getting rather tired of peeps endlessly thinking they need to poop on anothers brigade by dissapating what is merely a FUN contest I've decided to put on for the hell of it! If someone is voting based on popularity and not on what happened in the other thread, then so what? The idea is based on who you think DESERVES it, not who you think is the BEST forumite... so don't put things into the thread or into people's heads which don't exist! This never was a popularity contest and wasn't intended as one, ya big dork!

Oh, and I can see who voted for themselves. THOSE VOTES ARE DISCOUNTED! If you can't retract a vote, then write who you think deserves it based on the other thread instead! You naughty kids!

I think people SHOULD be able to vote for themselves - they can feel that they're the most deserving. I don't think you should have voted, though - that implies bias on your part as to who is the most deserving.

Argh! You people are nuts!!! Ok I'm going to take this oppurtunity to butt in -

1. I don't think this is a popularity contest.
2. I don't think there's favouritism involved.

IMHO I think this is just a well-meaning thread that's just happened to get a little out of control through some misunderstanding. Well, for one thing, I wasn't aware that this "popularity contest" is going on until SJH pointed it out to me this morning just now.

And no, I will not choose sides and I'm not saying these things just because SJH is my boyfriend, so don't take my post in the wrong context. Those who have known me from reading my posts in other threads would know that I always duck out of way when there's an argument. Maybe I am naive, but so what?

I'm begging you people to please just have fun with this. I've spoken with SJH and he's agreed to let you guys have the right to vote for yourselves and he'll retract his votes so therefore his votes are automatically discounted (sorry RLacey! ).

Also, to be a lot fairer, I've also persuaded him to make three drawings, so there will be three winners instead of one. Yep, three winners so that's three drawings, baby! Think about it... he's willing to spend some time to make three drawings and it'll be a labour of love and hardwork.

Lots of love, people.

Mira

I was joking about any popularity contest references, SJH .

Anyway, now that Scott is storming into the lead and the gap is only going to get larger, I'd like to retract myself from the competition. There are certainly others more deserving of the win, so good luck to them. Please feel free to put any votes for me towards someone else.

I think i'll chain him in the basement and get him to churn out Dilbert rip off's on demand.

Muuuhaaaaaaaaawwwwwww

Oh Mira you can visit him once a week so he doesn't get too depressed.

-- Nobody who took part in the Thread that died has taken it the slightest bit seriously. It was never a popularity contest so I don't know who brought that rubbish up.

I certainly never took it serious I certainly wasn't trying to win.
