A thread most controversial, that’s what I want to start
Full of impassioned arguments, of posting from the heart
And for this stimulation all will be thankful to me
On come on everybody it won’t work if you agree

I agree. I mean, who tries to slit their wrists over a sink? Everyone knows you do it in the bath!

Eh, Jat, now, you are trying too hard to be cool and edgy. That's when you actually stop being cool.

Darling, I've never in my life tried to be "cool." I am who I am, take it or leave it, the judgments of others bear no meaning to me.

Fair point. I will have to rephrase my statement.

Jat, it appears to me that you are trying too hard to look cool. When someone does that they stop being cool in my eyes.

By the way, I have only met one person in my entire life who truly didn't care about how others viewed him. He was quite mad though and had no mental perspectives at all on anything. For example, at one time, he refused to shower for a month claiming that his body odor is a part of him and taking a shower will diminish his being. At first I thought he was just being lazy but later, I found out that he did believe that his body odor going away will truly diminish his self worth.

The fact that you have personal quotes from others on the board in your sig leads me to conclude that you do care about how others view you. You just pick and choose about what to care and not to care.

I kind of wish I could be more like you and care less about how other people view me. My life would probably be a lot easier if I could do that. When my ex called me uptight, it hurt my feelings a lot. Took me weeks to get over it even though I kind of knew that I am indeed too uptight for my own good sometimes.

Where's a mod when you need them? They need to lock this thread before it starts getting real nasty. Mel? Where are you, Mel?

I agree. If anyone wants to lock the Thread™ before anyone other than myself posts that would be great.

It you don't want one, can I get a grounded young man instead? I have no problem with dating younger men.

By the way, Tibster, if you continue to talk back to daddy dearest, he's going to lock you up in a room and throw away the key. How are you going to kill the thread if you are locked up in a room.

(Says the guy who is a mod. Oh, and no, this not a permission to lock this thread, Tibs.)

How were we related again, akansie? Are you my sister? I feel a bit lonely apparently being the only girl in this family.

He's not a mod, just a staff member, he has no actual powers.

I didn't do that! *looks innocently at sister*

I don't see anything wrong with that picture, anyway, besides the zits, the lack of nose cartilage, and the bad hairdo.
