Do you have these fellas in your garden? Our neighbourhood has lots of them and they're quite disgusting. In some areas the house owners need to search and pick up to 50 slugs every night since they're breeding like crazy.

I don't know, I'm afraid. I don't think we get that many, so probably not.

I think I may have trodden on one of those before. There are few things quite as disgusting as the feeling when you accidentally step onto a slug, then realise what you've done. *shudder*

you need a beer trap for those monsters!

Slugs are attracted to beer, so it is often used to trap slugs. A beer trap consists of a shallow container, such as a yogurt cup, buried to within a half inch of the rim and filled with beer. Slugs will find it irresistible, crawl in and drown. You may want to put a loose cover over the beer trap to shade it and prevent rain from diluting it.

Thanks for the advice. I've seen them and I'm prepare to use such devises in case it gets ugly in my garden. So far I've managed with checking one specific corner of the garden where they seem to "hang out". I'm not going to tell you I dispose of them though.

Hrm...how absolutely delightful having you trapped. Would you like some dinner? Mr J has some ale in the fridge as well.

I was glad,
glad when they said unto me,
we will go into the house of the Lord.

And now I'm humming Parry...
