Again, Paris Hilton is someone that I've been remarkably successful in avoiding.

Anyway, DIE THREAD™ and all that.

The thing that is fascinating about the Olsen Twins is that America basically watched them grow up on a sitcom called Full House and also the fact they had a VERY good manager that kept them in the spotlight with several crappy pre-teen/teen made for video movies. It just goes to show you that talent is overridden by advertising.

Golly. Full House sounds terrible.

And I feel sad to note that the Olsen twins are my age. I apologise for 1986, people.

I like the twins, but they haven't done much over the past few years. I loved them in Full house tho.

Well, I've finished Red Dwarf: Better Than Life. Not quite as good as the first, so I have my hopes up for the third book. Pity that there's only 3 books.

Good to see you back Gil. Here is the ugliest battle platform ever made just for you. The Russian Lun WIG ground effect missile platform. Man talk about thanking God there was only built before USSR collapsed!

Holy shit. Is that a converted Erkanoplan a-90 Orlijonok? Looks a bit like it. Never heard of that particular bit a Cold War weaponry, but I'll have to research it.

You know, there is far, far, far too much military history going down here.

Let's talk about eighteenth century medicine instead .

In 1798 Edward Jenner published a treatise about smallpox vaccination.

Much better, though I'm currently concerned with (as in I was reading about it this afternoon) the practice of blistering; that is, applying corrosive materials to points on the skin, waiting for the skin to come up, lancing the blister and then keeping it open.

What jolly fun medical treatments they employed back then...

I remove my zits and blackheads with a X-Acto hobby knife. Not quite the same, though.
