Christmas decorations should be up until the twentieth day. (January 13.) "Tjugondag Knut kastas granen ut." is a saying in Sweden, so it's not really over for another week yet.

Oh, and it's "you're hip". "Your hip" is something else.

Thats neat cause in the US it's that you put up your decorations after Thanksgiving (The last Thursday of November) and take them down on New Years Day. Well.. except for the folks 'round here' that just save the problem of taking them down by leaving them up all year long.

Guys, this thread no longer contains anything even slightly interesting or contextual. Just let it die!

Yeah, there's quite a few of those types. They usually go for the fake icicles, blinking lights... I suppose that everything else just was blown away in the wind or rotted and fell down long ago, though.

Well, at least on the first couple of pages, they were trying to kill it. It's become more of a blog now.

Speaking of which, I'll do a little blogging myself.

Why is all the local wildlife thinking that my strawberry patch is the universal bathroom?

What's that you say? Oh, erm... yes, I do have several strawberry plants. Growing up, my mother was an avid gardener, so one day I said "To hell with these expensive commercial strawberries! I'll grow my own!" So, I purchased 50 strawberry plants. I thought, "Hey, I'll grow 'em for one season, get a few free strawberries out of the deal, great."

Big mistake. The plants did produce more strawberries than I could possibly eat, but they are a huge pain in the butt. After several colourful weeding episodes, they've finally conquered the weeds, but now they're just growing every where. They're taking over. I've been seriously condsidering ending their little world takover with a dousing of herbicide.....

Noo don't kill the strawberries!!! Are they the big ones or the small, almost wild type. the small ones are great for pies and such.

Also you can buy some 2/4 4 " high wire to keep pesky critters out. And weeding is a breeze if you get some porous ground cover to put around them.

Oh and don't forget to prune them back to about half there size before letting them produce fruit. selective culling also helps you produce better fruit, especially for the ever bearing varieties

Thanks for the tips.

No, they're the "big kind". About half of them are "Sparkling", and half of them are "All-American". I purchased them through a gardening catalogue.
