I was of course just kidding. The joke looses a bit if you don't hear me talking. My sister and I are both really fast talkers, and if somebody complains that we should speak more slowly, then we often joke "If I talk too fast, then you think too slow". Who's Sir Robert Peel? -

The GREAT Sir Robert Peel (to quote my school History teacher) was Prime Minister (this is Britain I'm talking about) during the middle of the 19th Century, and oversaw the repeal of the Corn Laws (something that ultimately destroyed his career), and the development of the "conservatives" (with a small "c") out of what had previously been the "Tories" (initially a word used in insult, but which had since come to represent those who sat opposite the Whigs). Peel eventually died by falling off a horse (in 1850, if memory serves).
I'm boring you, I'm sure, so I won't go on. |

Disraeli went against Peel, which is somewhat ironic because he had to adopt Peel-esque policies in order to get the Tories elected again.

Peel's victory in the elections of 1841 arguably marked a revival in the fortunes of old-fashioned Toryism, and was little to do with the policies outlined in the Tamworth Manifesto of 1834...

No, I got purgatory. That means I'm guaranteed heaven after a suitable period of repentence.
Because I'm sinless. Honest ... |
