I'm very troubled. I got a letter today from the Conservative Party, asking me to renew my membership. To my shock, there where the historic logo of the arm holding the torch should have been, was a tree. That's right, a tree...

I'm not sure I can bring myself to give support to a tree, trees are not what I'm about.

What are you doing David Cameron?

I want Maggie back, one could always count on the Iron Lady!

Hang on... you're a member of the Conservative Party, and yet you didn't know about the change of logo?

As someone wrote in a letter to the Daily Telegraph, at least the tree leans to the right...

Nothing has the power to kill a Thread like a dull political discussion. This situation could be serious.

The fun thing about the internet is that , unlike real life, you get people willing to admit to being part of esoteric fringe extermist groups like The Conservative Party or readers of the Telegraph...

I saw it at the conference, but I thought it was just for that event, I didn't realise it was a complete re-branding.

Do you know how much money they spent on having that logo created? There's no way they'd spend that much on a logo for a single conference. I hope.

Not that it really affects me, since I'm not a member of the Conservative Party (or any political party).

But a child could have drawn it!

I'm not giving them any more money, if they're just going to waste it like that!

----------------------------
(Nothing But) Flowers
-----------------------------

Here we stand
Like an Adam and an Eve
Waterfalls
The Garden of Eden
Two fools in love
So beautiful and strong
The birds in the trees
Are smiling upon them
From the age of the dinosaurs
Cars have run on gasoline
Where, where have they gone?
Now, it's nothing but flowers

There was a factory
Now there are mountains and rivers
you got it, you got it

We caught a rattlesnake
Now we got something for dinner
we got it, we got it

There was a shopping mall
Now it's all covered with flowers
you've got it, you've got it

If this is paradise
I wish I had a lawnmower
you've got it, you've got it

Years ago
I was an angry young man
I'd pretend
That I was a billboard
Standing tall
By the side of the road
I fell in love
With a beautiful highway
This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
Where, where is the town
Now, it's nothing but flowers
The highways and cars
Were sacrificed for agriculture
I thought that we'd start over
But I guess I was wrong

Once there were parking lots
Now it's a peaceful oasis
you got it, you got it

This was a Pizza Hut
Now it's all covered with daisies
you got it, you got it

I miss the honky tonks,
Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens
you got it, you got it

And as things fell apart
Nobody paid much attention
you got it, you got it

I dream of cherry pies,
Candy bars, and chocolate chip cookies
you got it, you got it

We used to microwave
Now we just eat nuts and berries
you got it, you got it

This was a discount store,
Now it's turned into a cornfield
you got it, you got it

Don't leave me stranded here
I can't get used to this lifestyle

David Byrne ruled when he was in Talking Heads

McDonalds McDonalds

You like it you love it

I want it I need it
Nothing else can beat it
Hot and spicy
Whenever I'm in town (mm mm)

Enticing exciting
Aroma so inviting
And when it hits
Me, I wanna take you home

Trust me you must see
Just what you're doing to me
Driving me crazy
Hungry to the bone

I think of you and lick my lips
You've got the taste I can't resist
Can't resist - can't resist
Let's eat to the beat

(Repeat Chorus)

Would you like that to go?

Any sauces?

You're so sweet and you're neat
You knock me off my two feet
You're chunky and hunky
I'm coming back for more (Hot Dog)

Your taste all embraces
I gotta sing your praises
Just savour the flavours
Waiting at your door

I think of you and lick my lips
You've got the taste I can't resist
Can't resist - can't resist
Let's eat to the beat

(Repeat Chorus)

Does anyone fancy a shake?
Shake
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Shake it to the left - Shake it to the right - Let's shake
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

I think of you and lick my lips
You've got the taste I can't resist
Can't resist - can't resist
Let's eat to the beat

No, a child would have made the crown nice and round. And probably added some pretty red apples.

And a child would have gotten the colour of the trunk right, too. I always thought that *that* green with *that* blue is the ugliest combination ever.

I must be alone in not hating it. Don't get me wrong - I don't think it's particularly great - but I also don't think that it's utterly abysmal.

Anyway, this is way off-topic. The Conservative Party?

Correct. But if you had I'd have found that slightly weird. Particularly as - for the record - it would be impossible to truthfully describe me as "cute".
