The Threadâ„¢ will die.

I don't have a particular problem with the discussion. It's just that killing the Thread™ requires people to stop posting in this thread.

Good. Why don't you stop posting, then?
Don't answer that. Just stop posting. There's a good group of girls/boys/transgender species... |

I don't think we should kill this thread.
Killing is wrong. -

I'll kill you if you don't let me kill this Thread™. Make your choice, Looney One!
:EDIT: Actually, that's more than a tad harsh (and untrue). Maybe just torture with some painful, blunt instrument, then. Either way, the choice is between suffering and letting me win. Remember, kids: letting me win is fun for everyone!

We can't stop yet. We haven't reached post 10,000.
Isn't there a recurring urban myth about implants reacting to remote controls so the implant gets all exctitable when the neighbout changes the channel or opens his garage door?

I share Natasha's opinion of phones. Phones are for phoning, not for anything else. And I have a feeling that there's quite a lot of people like that other girl out there. -

I concur. At a pinch I use mine to make texts (though I'm hopelessly inept at typing the damn things), but I prefer to use phones for what they were originally intended: making telephone calls.

I've never written an SMS in my life, partly because I hate it if people try to tell me what to do when they don't have a right to tell me anything (if they are nice, or have a right to tell me what to do, that's alright). I hate it to be manipulated (that's why it usually hits a nerve when any character in any game [often NWN] is manipulating my character. They should be glad I am unable to play evil characters, or they'd be at the receiving end of my wrath. I do usually play Chaotic Good though, so they're not entirely safe. Except in Aielund, where I ended up as Neutral Good after being too loyal to the country - Then again, I could use a higher tendency towards Chaotic in Aielund, because if I become Lawful I won't be able to rise up any more levels as a bard. So beware the Loony if you're going to cross or manipulate her!), it's the one thing that really makes me furious. And then there along comes a phone - a bloody *THING* - and tries to tell me what word it is I am writing! It would be only half as bad if it suggested the right word, but *NO* it suggests something completely wrong! EVIL!!! On a side note, I am reading "The History of the English Language" right now, which starts as follows: Quote:

What really irritates me is when people send me an SMS that needs replying to, which forces me to write them an SMS. I have email if I want to send messages that consist of text, and otherwise it would almost certainly be far easier to call. Particularly as, given how little I actually say in any given text message, I could almost certainly save money by delivering brief snippets of the dolcet tones of my voice instead...
