This one didn't start until 4th December 2005. We've still got itime to catch up. When I get in I'll see about doing some stats on whether we're likely to.

Indeed. And here they are.

They've achieved post 16,718 on day 325 of their thread. At current average posting rates we won't hit that until day 426 of this thread (3rd February 2007)

Of course, we still have time to catch them up. We have until 25th October 2006 to achieve the 16,718 target.

Come on people, get posting. Especially you Rob. On current form 1,828 of those extra posts have to be yours.

Just because you've given up killing the thread is no reason to stop posting in it.

And now a geek comment about the hot weather.

But I will never return to the basement! *waves fist to the sky*

The basement is dark and dank and evil! I will not go into the basement!

It's not that hot, is it?

Though you've just given us a perfectly good threat to use against you: the threat of locking you in the basement...

Oh, I can survive in the basement, don't fear. It's just that I much rather play on my trusty computer than battle giant mutant mold in the deepest cellar (as in: It's actually entirely beneath ground and even a bit more, rather than just about two thirds) in the street. If I didn't know it better myself, I'd say there's Myconids somewhere down there. Maybe Psychedelic Chairs made from Mushroooms...

I've always wanted a cellar.

But wouldn't the chance to battle giant mutant mould be like a real-life version of what you play on your trusty computer? Only with the luxury of it being cooler as well ...

In some respects, ditto. But I'm perfectly happy to have an attic and a garage .

Well, yeah. But my Katana is currently at the cleaners, so I can't do that.

We have an Attic too, though not a Garage (who needs that, if you have enough space in front of your house, and a gate?). It's the only place in our house I have never been to, but I bet we have Ancient Dust Elementals up there.

Oh, and we have a workshop which has been home to Shades and Shadows (look like Shadows of humans, with red glowing eyes, you see) for nearly my entire life...until recently, when we relocated the light switch from beside the garden door (leading outside, obviously) to beside the office door (staying inside). Since then they seem to have either fled, or just hide when we switch on the light. Either way, it's fine with me.

Garages provide much needed storage (especially here in California when houses rarely have basements).

They are also a godsend in places (like the Midwest where I grew up) when winter temperatures can get below zero. It's easier on your car and it warms up faster if it's out of the extreme cold.

So garages are useful things.

Yeah, garages are useful. Though my parents don't ever actually put the car(s) in it .

And Jaz, let me get this straight... you're telling us that your house is actually chock-a-block with monsters just waiting to slaughter you in a heartbeat if it weren't for strategic use of light and a soiled katana?

Eep .

Well, yeah. Except for the part with the soiled Katana. I mean, it's yucky to cut mushrooms with a dirty Katana? Who would eat them then?! That's why it's at the cleaners, so it's all nice and hygenic.

Of course. That makes much more sense.

Mind you, who in their right mind would eat mushrooms anyway?

Many people do. But then you have to ask yourself, are you in your right mind.
