yea, when I'm out of town I call my mom everyday as well, just to hi, if nothing else.

My sentiments exactly.
Even stranger is how most (but not all) of them have wives who seem to invent drama to report while they're away. Some examples:

"Your dog crapped on the living room carpet! What are you going to do about it?"

"You know that living room suit that we looked at but couldn't afford? I went ahead and bought it anyway, and the guys who delivered it took away our old stuff ("old" being 5 years and in perfect shape!) for free."

"Your son is failing math!" (A 70% on one early-term pop quiz is not "failing".)

That's fine.
But you don't strike me as the type to take every call home from Christer as an opportunity to make him miserable while he's out of town.

If I was that kind of type we'd most likely be divorced by now since he's out of town a lot.

Well, you'd hope that she would do something about it, otherwise she's gonna be treading in shit an awful lot before he gets home!

What's with the 'your' bit? Didn't she have some part in his creation? And 70% would be a supremely high pass in this country!

Well, it's a kind of fantasy novel for teenagers that I've been writing on and off for a couple of years now. I thought I'd send it off to some agents to see what they thought. First reply said it didn't 'click' with them, cheers for the helpful feedback guys! I've written a couple of short stories which I'm hoping are going to be published on some websites shortly too. My next novel's gonna be an adult comedy about a couple of swingers

I was referring to the discussion of seebsie's novel. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten that I read a chapter of a book between loading the page and replying to Sage's comment, during which time two other replies had been made.

Don't give up. Even Astrid Lindgren was refused in the beginning. (Serves those publishers right. )

This reminds me, I actually watched an episode of Baywatch last night.

It was just as cheesy as I remembered, and I had a good chortle.

Yeah, Ill be seeing you, in hell

So dont cry to me oh baby
Your futures in an oblong box

You should have seen it a-coming on
Dont cry to me oh baby
I dont know it was in your card
Dont cry to me oh baby
Dead-end soul for a dead-end girl
Dont cry to me oh baby
And now your life drains on the floor
Dont cry to me oh baby

Just shut your pretty mouth
Ill be seeing you again, yeah-yeah

And who are you?

Where do these things come from? Shoo! Shoo! I told that to the last one! On your way now, there's nothing here for you!

Good riddance and don't you come back! That goes for all of you. Now go away and don't you dare to come back!

Feel free to check any other thread though.
