It's sage the herb/plant, which is the dominant form of plant life in the Great Basin Desert. I thought of "Sagebrush" but that sounded a little too "Yosemite Sam" for my taste, so I shortened it to "Sage".
I have to admit that I liked the double entendre quality as well.

That settles it. You see I have a spot in my herb garden where I was about to plant a rosemary. Now I'm going to plant a sage instead (I've always loved the colour) to celebrate your successful name change.
