(Edit): Watching people play music incredibly - or, frankly, even rather (but I've been watching a lot of the aforementioned now) - well makes me really wish a) I was a bit of a musical virtuoso and b) that I had at least practiced a lot more as a child...

Yes, but on the other hand it feels good to know that I'm continually improving, so even though I'm not quite a virtuoso, I'm a better musician today than I was a year ago.
