So, if "x" marks the spot and this thread has recently become covered in red spots does that mean The Thread is now a teenager and/or is entering pubity? If so I worry about all the other threads around it.

Nah, it'll just turn seven in april, so it's not a teenager. (Though considering the normal life span of a thread, maybe the Threadâ„¢ is more like an Old One.)
