'Cause, seriously, if you translate what Wilders is saying into German, there's really not much difference to the man who looked like this house:
But there is one big difference between Geert Wilders and the guy that looked like that house. Geert doesn't blame a people for many problems, but a religion: the islam. He will never go so far as to suggest to deport people or start a war against muslim countries.
Geert's lawyer, who defends him in the trail that is held against him, once advised a law student who asked him a question in a TV program, where she compared Wilders to Hitler, to go and study history instead of law.

Sorry about that. My elbows do flail about a bit in group hug situations.

Or is that a comment on my choice of apparel this morning (I'm leading a tour of my home town and because the streets are narrow and twisty in places, I need to readily visible to my tour group)

This is something that has always bugged me. Is judaism not a religion? Everyone's always talking about how jews are a "race". Like "oh, he's half black, half jewish". I understand that there is a certain "jewish people" thing going on there and the whole original tribes and all that but still. Judaism is first and foremost (especially nowadays) a religion.

And it doesn't matter what it is that Wilders is blaming, be it jews, islam or redheads, it's still the same rhetorics just with a different target and maybe with different goals.

Of course, it wasn't really Wilders that I was talking about in the end either. It was some German bloke. But Wilders' talk was close enough (and it was in Dutch anyways, so of course it's nothing like Hitler...)

Also, I suppose it's the lawyer who should go study history instead of law, he clearly has the law-mentality which prevents him from seeing anything in context and analogy instead of a simple cold fact and black-and-white comparison.

Let me first say that I am not a fan of Wilders at all. But you have to have the facts straight. I see him a lot more on TV than you, and believe me, he is nothing like that German bloke from 70 years ago. He's pretty left-wing, actually, except when it comes to the islam. He wants it banned from the Netherlands. That doesn't mean that he wants all muslims out though. As long as you behave like he wants to you can stay. And there lies the problem: he pulls it to the extreme, with proposals for a scarf-tax and a ban on scarfs in buses, for instance. Furthermore, he gets lots of money from his zionist friends in America. He never reveals who the people are of whom he gets the money. His co-workers are not all people with a clean slate, if you now what I mean. They are also not allowed to speak to journalists. And his party has only one member: Geert Wilders.
I wish I was more eloquent and could better tell you what's wrong with Geert and his party, but those are a few of the reasons why many people would like to have him removed from the government.
