I just heard that my mother has fallen down during her walk to the supermarket. She has broken her wrist, and hurt her hip so badly she can't walk. Bloody winter. I'm very glad my mum's hip is still OK, just bruised.

Glad that her hip is okay, though.

We have no snow, despite having to host the Winter Olympics.

I'm so sorry for your mom, tsa. Erm, did you mean to post this in the "Thread Must Die"?

EDIT: 3 projects (essays) down, 3 more to go before Monday!!!

Give your mother a pair of these spiked slip-on stretch thingies. They are really great. I'm over sixty but no longer afraid of falling and breaking something. Wouldn't know what to do without them in this weather. (I'll continue in Dutch, because it's not interesting for non-Dutchies.)

Looking at old Prom pictures equals bad idea.

But I'm happy now, and that's what counts. And listening to Holmes/Watson fan music vids always makes me feel better.

Thanks Fien. It's funny: my mother urged ME to buy some of those last week, because of my stiff and sore knees. I now wish she had listened to herself. Anyway, I will have to find a pair of those for myself! Can you recommend a brand?

I don't know what brand mine are. It just says made in Taiwan on the inside. But I've seen them for sale at Marktplaats.nl. Search for "schoenovertrek" and "sneeuw".
