He says damnit anytime they lose all leads to the terrorists, but then magically some bad guy contacts him because he wants protection from CTU, or well, it happened in at least two seasons from what I've seen

It is always the same, Jack has only good lead on terrorist, he breaks protocol to follow lead, others at CTU break protocol to help him, some mole ****s it all up, Jack kicks ass, Jack says 'Dammit!', LA comes under attack, Jack saves day, Kim is tortured and killed, the end, hooray!

Exactly, but even though it's pretty formulaic, it's not very predictable, somehow it always manages to surprise me. And Kim is coming back this season, so I'm just going to keep watching
